SM and orks are likely to be popular. So it makes sense to space them apart to make more money.

This

SM are the posterchild of 40k, everyone knows them and vast majority of people that dont research the other races will pick them up.

Orks are the posterchild's main enemy, and will be picked up for either the same reason as the SM or because the more artistic players just want to convert like no tomorrow and Orks allow that to an insane degree (Hell, Landraiders have specs you must follow that offer next to no modifications...Battlewagons dont even state how their weapons are mounted except the Killkannon and the exact specs are only known as "Big monsters")

SM are probably ahead of Orks purely because they are the posterchild. I think orks need it more because the heart and soul of the ork codex (assault) is virtually impossible except in 2 lists, and that gets boring.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Imho, Orks don't need updated(apart from the Weirdboy) as much as Tyranids do.

They are coming! I feel them scratching inside my mind, scratching, screaming, running, so many...so, so many voices. They're coming for us - flesh, body and soul!

What do you get if you attach a laser sight to a Lasgun? Twin-linked!

What lists can orks run that are competitively viable anymore? Green tide or bikers with dakkajets/loota support. Vehicles are too easy to pop now days, walkers are garbage, and anything in the ork dex thats not a loota/nob/boy is utter trash aside from being fun.

They need the update more for variability than anything else. Weight of fire counters both the main lists. I stopped using my orks simply because everyone i play against knows how to deal with bikernobz and/or green tides so i just get wiped most the time now. Ive even tried some whacked out stuff like sending Ghazzy in with Snikrot Kommandos lol (which is HILARIOUS when it works)
