Loving these guys! The cherry blossom work is amazing. I was eye-rollingly cynical when I opened this thread, but these are not only the best samurai-themed 40k models I've ever seen, but they're also the only samurai-Space Marines I've ever liked.

Echoing the question already asked: what the heck is the guy on the bottom? He looks especially awe-inspiring.

Thank you all,
I'm glad you like them.
For the modifications unfortunately I can not help you.
The customer sent me the pieces have already been changed and I don't know where he got the biz or basic pieces: (

These are really well done! I hope you do not mind if I use these guys as inspiration for my own project.
Samurai SMs has been a concept I've been playing with for a while but have never really solidified the idea. While my Samurai Marine P&M blog is not much at the moment I hope that one day in the future I will have something just as awesome to display
It's excellent to see someone else put as much consideration into a concept I think deserves it.

Nice work! So many people try to make SM Samurai and they look like SM with Samurai parts stuck on. You've set the bar really high.

I guess if there is one thing these models prove its that a paintjob makes or breaks a conversion. Because the mini's themselves ARE still just the AOBR captain with a head and sword tacked on and mostly dark vengeance IC with a few other bits (i see an emperors champion to), and I had to stare REALLY REALLY HARD at them to see just what a tiny amount of conversion actually went into these to make such stunning models. LESS is infact more with these. What an amazing paint job.

These are absolutely incredible. Achingly beautiful is not how I would usually describe Space Marines, but you have nailed it. You have really brought the aesthetic of Japan into 40K with these models. Well done

The dreadnought/dreadknight guy is un-effing-believable! Kudo's to you! From concept to completion must of been a labor of love, but the way they came out, it was so worth it that it isn't even funny, just jaw-dropping....

I was worried when I first clicked on this thread. Samurai marines are something that has been done time and time again, and always turn out cringe worthy at best.

These, however, are beautiful The customer's choice in modeling is superb and relatively subtle in blending into the basic marine models, and your painting puts it right over the top.

An A+ and two high fives for you.

Awesome job, I recognize a couple of the pieces from the Dark Vengeance set. Guy with two hands holding the sword up right and the winged left shoulder pauldron is a converted DT company or chapter master I believe. The one with the plasma pistol and crescent staff pointing out is actually the limited edition Inquistor-Chaplain piece from Dark Vengeance, Seraphicus I think his name is. There's a few others in there as well.

Pretty amazing work on both painting and modding the original pieces.

I was expecting to see some kind of ill-conceived mash up... i was wrong, beautifully converted, beautifully painted. Really well done!

What is the tall fella representing exactly?.. i think its very cool but it doesn't quite fit 40k weapon wise.... i do however like the idea of these guys getting some kind of special unit... a samurai-automation or whatever.

Great stuff... more please!

I agree. It would have been easy to overdo the conversion and end up a garish mess. I this case the minimal, but correct, conversion combined with the loverly painting just makes for a stunning and believable whole. The painting is loverly and the conversions are an object lesson in how details matter. I would love to see more.

I wish I could do something half this good.
