Nids have weak anti air. I would save the vendetta slots for 50 point infantry squads and have them hid there until turn 5.

I would rather fry gribbles that are currently breaking my lines than ones further backfield.

Cost...well take the quad flamer squad out of the equation. Even if a hellhound is in the list what else is the pcs going to do? It's in the list with or without the hellhound.

So the real choice is an extra chimera for the pcs + a griffon, and a 50 point squad of chumps rides the vendetta or quad flame pcs rides a vendetta +50 point squad of chumps is on foot+ a hellhound..

I like the quad flamer pcs and have gone ahead with that. Reason 2 to put them in chumera is as mentioned im having trouble with doom, armour would prevent this while also allowing my commissar to provide higher ld and a reroll from comparitive safety. If it was simply a 'what kills gaunts best" question id go straight to the hound
