GW is usually pretty stingy with invulnerable saves. Look at how much legion of the damned costs for C:SM.
Bikes are one of the high points in the BA codex, but the die pretty easily to mass catapults or pulse rifles. And helldrakes, of course.

Heldrakes kill almost everything though If you did want to give the bikes and Invuln you could try to get the 4++ power (Forewarning?) from Divination. Also, how well does Blood Rodeo do in the current meta? It seems really interesting if you can find a way to protect the bikes. Lucarikx

The 4++ invuln power in divination makes lots of things in the BA codex that were mediocre suddenly good. I feel this power is best used on 10 man ASM squads.

Icculus wrote:I didnt know cover was referred to as ++. Either way, I would take a 5+ Invuln save with a 4+ cover save all day long. Because there are units that ignore cover and have low AP.
Yeah, because in most shooting a cover is almost identical to invulnerable.
But as far as I know the Shield of Sanguinius gives a 5+ COVER save and not an invulnerable save.
Sure, you could take a priest on a bike and hope for a 4+ inv-save, but that are quite some points for such a 'guess'.
On the other hand every possible power is kinda useful for a Librarian on a bike, so I guess I will just buy both
In other news: What do you guys think of the Ravenwing-squads?
A command squad has the priest-biker, an awesome Sgt/Captain and a banner (only for looks).
A bike squad has two bikers and a hooded sgt that can be played as a Librarian with Force Sword.
Shouldn't be that hard to turn those swords into blood drops?

If you chop off the sides of the sword handle and smooth out the sword it looks like a blood drop.
On topic:
@Martel: I see what you mean. It does seem better to protect troops, rather than screening units.
There was a concept called "Bling Rodeo" where you ran Dantewing + Bikers. In a meta where Heldrakes and AP 3 Are abundant, should it be a viable alternative?

BA ASM with 4++ invuln and 5++ FNP are very difficult to get rid of.

Oh man, I like how my thread on how to best use five bikes with no other models added has gone from add attack bikes to add librarians to a full blood rodeo.
Ah well, it's all interesting reading.

If you just have five bikes in totality, I might just use the plasma and be done with it. I'm not sure that a priest is worth it for just 5 bikers. But attack bikes go in my lists before regular bikes, so I've always got attack bikes to buff as well, making the priest well worth it.

I am sorry, it's totally my fault! For the last two weeks I have been thinking of adding bikers to my list. And when I saw this thread I had to run to our nation's Craigslist and it had 5 bikers with an attack-bike for just over 30 dollar. It was almost as if some higher being wants me to read this thread! Edit: Powerfist +2x Plasma seems the best build in my opinion. You have guns for small infantry, plasma for 2+ and a fist to break open tanks. What more do you want? From a rumour-thread: Ravens have stealth and get to use jump packs in assault and moving. Can take a single unit of bikes as troops if HQ is on a bike Yup, I am going Raven Guard with them
