Lenses: Nerdfest09's method works really well, and when used in this case helps emphasise the Salamanders red eyes, so all credit to him:

Flames: Flames are really easy, you could go with wet blending, but on smaller areas such as NickTheButcher's cloak it's easy just to lay down gradually lighter layers ranging from Khorne Red at one end to Flash Gitz Yellow at the other. White can be applied, but gives a colder (Or intensely hot) look to the flames so use at your discretion. Take a look at the link for Lemmingspawn's Lava bases in one of my previous posts as the method still applies.

Right girlfriend bought me a dreadnought for our anniversary any advice on making a feature base please as I really dont want to lava this guy - want to save that for my forgeworld dread that I will buy once painting has improved
