Actually they look totally overdone, but still cool-ish.

Most 40K is more than a tad over-done. Doubly so these days with the INSANE amount of bling-and-skulls they keep slapping on everything

If you want to run cool - run orks. Heavy heavy fuel, man



*** as to letting your daughter pick, she has good taste SW are pretty awesome. One of my regular opponents is a Wolfer. My daughter's Nids are slated to be his next match, and she's looking forward to nomming some space-viking...***

Whichever you do, pick an army that you're going to be willing to do a lot of work into figuring out how to play, and how to make good.

Any army you pick that's hot right now will be cold in no time. When that happens, you're going to have to actually work to win games, rather than having games just handed to you. Anyone can play any army when it's easy. Not everyone can play every army when it's hard.

Play the army you want when it's hard, rather than just picking the one that happens to be easiest right now.
