That's not Thousand Sons. You have Ahriman in there dude!! Thousand Sons would shoot you on sight... on order of the Primarch himself.

That's some good old-fashioned Rubic-heavy Renegades.

I'll tell the book not to use words like "Leading a great host of Thousand Sons against the Commorrite and Craftworld Eldar within."

Remember that he is not a Renegade (Which refers to Loyalists turned Chaos), but is instead a Faction of Thousand Sons due to Tzeentch himself telling Magnus no.

..Or are you being sarcastic and basing yourself off a particular posters idea of Chaos? Hard to tell.

I'm sure Ahriman still considers himself a member of the Thousand Sons, despite having been exiled. =P He's watched way too many movies where the outcast anti-hero comes back just in time to save everyone...

That's not really true. A lot of Chaos Marines fighting and leading the "Legions" (such as they are) are turned Loyalists (aren't they all in a way, even the traitor Primarchs). Zhufor being a common example.

A lot of Renegades, the majority actually, are Chaos Space Marines who fought in the Heresy as well. The Sanctified for example, or the Warriors of Agganor. Huron himself rides in a Word Bearer Flagship and has more Death Guard to his command than he can shake a stick at.

Ahriman may think of himself as Thousand Sons. Kharn may think of himself as a World Eater. Timmy the Aspiring Chaos Champion may think he is Horus Reborn. But that doesn't make any of them so. They are Renegades. Their former Legions, if they've been around since the Heresy, are gone in most cases.

What's up with Ahriman not getting divination. If any 1 unit in the CSM codex he should get it. T-Sons was written 3 years before the new codex came out.

And the legions of the Imperium are gone as well, that doesn't suddenly mean the Ultramarines are gone. The books themselves still say they are apart of the World Eaters and Thousand Sons respectively, they've just devolved into more Warband based experience, with Ahriman leading a faction of Thousand Sons that have followed him, same with Kharn. In general though at this point they either create for themselves from the dark mechanicus, purchase from other warbands, or purchase from the daemonworlds where the Daemon Primarches lay.

Huron leads a massive number of Space Wolves himself, does that mean he suddenly became apart of the Chapter?

Anything else is just biased opinion against Chaos in general.

Heh yeah, never seen a Word Bearers army, though have 1 unit of TS and my 11 Night Lords (Still waiting to get my mojo on to do my bikers and Raptors up in their colours).

Have heard of an Alpha Legion army for one of the ex players I know, but never seen them (coincidence?).

but thanks to the 4th ed book, I changed over from WE to BL and now have a spread of all of em (no AL or WB).

Forgefiend, Vindicators, Land Raider & HelChicken will be getting the IW treatment soon.

Actually, it kind of makes sense that ahriman doesn't have divination. If he did, he wouldn't have made so many boneheaded and clueless decisions. He would have seen what the rubric would have done. He would have avoided taking actions that got him kicked out of the 1ksons. He wouldn't have to be blindly, manually searching for the black library, etc.

It makes sense that abaddon would have the crusader trait because he's had a lot of practice crusading (13th time's a charm), but not so much for ahriman to have divination

Your one-stop website for batreps, articles, and assorted goodies about the men of Folera: Foleran First Imperial Archives. Read Dakka's favorite narrative battle report series The Hand of the King. Also, check out my commission work, and my terrain.

He did find the black library, he just couldn't get past the Eldar and Inquisitors defending the Webway.

Also there's the fact that Tzeentch blocks Divination in the first place if he doesn't want you to see it. Remember his Lords of Change die when Tzeentch falsifies their future so they can't avoid their own death.

Umm.. how is that biased against Chaos?

The Space Wolves that follow Huron aren't really Space Wolves anymore. They are former Space Wolves turned Renegade. No?

By the same measure, the Death Guard that follow Huron aren't really Death Guard anymore. They are former Death Guard turned Renegade....

And the former Thousand Sons that follow Ahriman even adopted their own Warband name. They don't even lay claim to the Legion title.

Hmm, I suppose it's true, I'm sorry man I've been dealing with a specific commenters thoughts on chaos and I thought you were of the same mindset. I even know that Khorne World Eaters/Khorne marked apart of the Black Legion have their own unique titles as part of Black Legion.
