We agree on the pods. howeverr to your points: Rhino arguemnt thats a copout. If marines have the best of everything then they would be fully equipped with skimmers on worlds that could take them. Not one fluff piece notes that. They only ever have rhinos and LR's. If we're following that they get the best of everything, and that antigrav plates are indeed common, well there's an irreconcilable conflict then. As for BL Fluff being canon. I'm ok with that. According to Gaunt and the Last Chancers- IG wack marines with relative ease. Works for me

if they win the war they will pick up the pods. if they lose or need to make a hasty retreat they leave them there for the locals to make houeses with.

One thing i have yet to see, is if a drop pod is indeed a "one-time-use" item... how come Orks dont have some form of drop pod?? Whats to say they couldnt loot a landed drop pod after a battle, and make an Ork-pod...
i mean, aside from them landing in Rocks, basically speaking.
