Second, I just don't understand how people never figure out to not use a fixed knot, but instead a pulley system with one's own arm strength, creating a de facto dead man's switch for the whole process. It just seems really obvious; but then again, perhaps an obvious minor engineering feat is something that may be lost of anyone who needs to choke themselves.

That's the thing. Pleasure centre of the brain gets the hit either way. The source of the "rush" just gets replaced.
The main human sex organ isn't between your legs, it's inside your skull - so it's all sexual kink if it's about sudden rush of blood to the head.
It's supposed to heighten the rush if you go off as you ALMOST pass out. Passing out kinda defeats the purpose.

kids did the chocking game when I was in school too... at least the bored ones with nothing better to do.

Pretty sure they are the ones who graduated on to other drugs as well, as my guess is the #1 thing that leads people to feel they need drugs or other mind altering things is boredom.

I was far too busy chasing girls, working, studying, warhammering, and generaly doing actual activities to care about that game.

Master made one typo. The sentence 'More fool them' is a very basic manipulation of the accepted form 'More fool you'. If one typo and a bit of non-standard syntaxe is indicative of damaged brain functions, the sentence you replied with should land you directly in an asylum.

what is 100% sure is that none of the drug use will make them smarter,

may be a fun way to kill some time/brain cells, but nothing more will come of it.
