In the Army, women are 16% of soldiers, but 24% of personality disorders... therefore the additional 8% are rape cover ups?
I mean I'm open to the possibility, but the linked statistics say nothing at all about rape so I can only assume logical loop da loops are being performed to reach the conclusion.
I think you just coined OT's new slogan.
And a life long dream has been fulfilled?

From the information given it seems a fairly imaginative conclusion at best.
I'm not saying there isn't an issue, I mean I have no problem believing there would be cover ups, because that unfortunately seems to exist in a lot of armed services around the world. But to single out the US armed services you need to provide not just evidence of the problem, but also evidence that the problem is considerably bigger than elsewhere, and we're not even getting close to the first one.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Not to mention evidence that rape victims are being charged with crimes due to being raped, as the initial claim went. I like crazy-ass hippie claims as much as the next guy, but I like them supported.

I think you linked the wrong article. There's no support for this thesis...

You left out the US military from that list.

Cool, thanks for that.
Now, do you think that's in any way different to how things have gone down in other armed services? I mean, given the high profile cases of sexual abuse in the ADF in the last few years, complete with cover ups that tried to tarnish the repuation of the victim, do you think you can single out the US military for this?
And even if so, forcing a discharge for a personality disorder isn't having someone charged with a crime.

The bit where it said a lass was forced to marry her rapist made me dry retch. Having to marry the scum whom did something like that to you is...... I cant say how fethed up that is.
Some of these countrys have a hell of a long way to go before they reach modern standards.
