Centurions are an affront to all things right and decent in the world.

So I guess that determines my vote.

Couldn't tell you which is better in the game terms though.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Heavy flamer AND heavy bolter in the same squad. Yay or nay?

Nay. As a heavy weapon, you'll be making snap shots the turn you come down, you'd do better with their special bolters or a combi weapon. This squad will also probably be on the recieving end of a lot of things coming down, so investing too heavily in them may not be the best idea, especially as that heavy bolter won't work with how you want the sternguard to operate; mobile, mid-ranged firebase.

Makes sense. Shame though, it's a bad ass looking gun!

As much as I like the way the HB looks, I'd never take one on a sternguard. And the one in the stern kit has too much veteran iconography to look right in a tac/dev squad.

I think it was a missed opportunity not to give the sternguard HB hellfire shells. I've got my fingers crossed that if/when they put out a UM suplement, it will have rules for tyranic war vets who can make good use of the HB. Until then, it's going to stay in my bits box.
