Yikes. Yeah, the army bundles don't look bad, but £30 shipping is a bit to rich for my blood. I was hoping to have two small armies and a Rulebook for around $100. Maybe that was naive of me. I could probably go a little closer to $150, but there certainly aren't any in that price range on ebay...
Thanks though!
Edit:
@Manchu. Beautiful! That looks about perfect! Now I just need to find one for another faction and I'm in business!
Edit edit:
So what would match up better?

The Gauls set is only $44. I've read a lot of good things about Corvus Belli's 15mm ancients. If you do get them, please post lots of pics and a review!

Where would I find DBA rules in the US?
Edit:
If I could sell my Tau stuff, I'd order this today!

Many thanks!
Edit: while I've got you all here...
What kind of recommendation do you guys have on terrain when playing with DBA rules? What are some good manufacturers?

They look really cool ont he table and look like a proper army rather than a pair of football teams playing at war.
That is the best way I have ever heard the visual effect described.
6mm Napoleonic Russians.
These are based on 60mm squares. A common size for 28mm is three figures in one rank on a 60mm x 30mm base. You can fit around 20 figures in two ranks in the same space when using 6mm.

Made an account just to recommend 1:72 scale historicals. There's a lot of manufacturers (Italeri, Zvezda and HäT are some good brands for basic sets) and it's less space consuming than 28mm with, in a lot of cases, a truly comparable level of detail. Most sets are true scale though so if you prefer heroic scale there's less of a choice.

1/72 is cheap and surprisingly wide choice of figures available.
There probably is more popularity in 15mm as a mainstream scale, but 1/72 would allow a player to make matched pairs of armies very easily.
