I am actually against any reserve units for bikes. You need an amazing alpha strike so you can just overrun your opponent

Once you are filled up with bikes what do you bring that can actually keep up? I find that the stormraven + TFC accounts for the main weaknesses of grav gun bikers. It also gives me a TL MM on a flyer. This is great if the opponent can break free with serpents, etc.

Also if you are going to run Grav Cents this is one of 3 realistic ways to make them mobile enough to contribute. The other 2 are Loth - GoI and Scouting Landraider.

I don't want a stormRaven because A: I need two thunderfire cannons and B: I can't attach a divination libby to them unless running ultra marines

You are correct that you wouldn't be able to attach the libby but you can take 1 TFC, a Stormraven, and Dev Cents in the primary detachment and then take 1 TFC in the allied detachment.

Have you considered buffing the dev cents from a libby not attached? If you take a bike libby then having it within 12" should be difficult.

the libby would be on foot with two powers and a PFG. never said anything about a bike.


I guess the storm raven could work, but I still need to think about it some more.

Centurion squad w/ Grav amps and a missile launcher
x2 TFC's (only got the second one a few days ago)

Allies:
Tigurius or maybe a PFG libby to walk with the Centurions
Tactical squad because I don't have scouts.



Been thinking of allying in some Tau for a buff commander and a chance to let my Imagination play a little with what I can make as a counts as.

I'm seeing a lot of white scars lists lately with no dedicated AA. Why is this?

Bikes can get away with no anti air due to maneuverability, especially when they have hit and run. Anti air would actually weaken some lists, as it takes away from their alpha strike.

The only exception to this is of course the Heldrake, who can slaughter bike armies.

is there an army (bar terminators/2+ elites) that helldrakes CAN"T slaughter?

True, but it is a severe problem for bike armies (More so for ravenwing than scars, due to the increased prices), as each model costs more than options in other lists, but are barely any more survivable against it.

consider dropping the dread for more bikes, I don't like the dreadcannon, doesn't do much for me usually. That or grab another speeder and give your allied tacs something useful lol.

I'm waiting for the money to buy sniper scouts at the moment =D

Personally, love the dread so much.also would love to replace him with a Sicarn someday.

There is a list were I have three squads of 8 bikers and two of five, but don't have the bikes to run that.

So, for my general tactics for battle, is to charge maybe 2-3 squads towards one point and bring one in off of outflanking? were should objectives go?
