Anval Thawn is otherwise just a normal Grey Knight, who chills with his comrades after each fight, while Celestine disappears after the battle only to reappear elsewhere. That's something even Perpetuals can't do.

Or does she? You can use Celestine in campaign play, too.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Well, I never specifically said she ALWAYS did (fluff doesn't say if that's the case or not technically I supposed). She does, however, sometimes do so, which is something Thawn can't do.

I have no idea, I just like this idea of a Sororitas army in the field, all lines of Immolators and SOB Rhinos in long, tracked lines, followed by lines of marching Battle Sisters and reliquaries being hauled along by the faithful, throngs of priests and Frateris Militia, Novitiates following along with the baggage train or at the heels of some Sister Superior who's providing some "on the job training"...

... meanwhile, here's this woman, just flying around, glowing like a golden sun, maybe munching on an MRE or something, just another day in the campaign in the Purging of Planet X...

Celestine is a perpetual though.

If people are aware the emperor is a perpetual why is he on the Golden Throne? Surely the Adeptus Custodes would know this? Sure it would cut off travel throughout the galaxy for a brief period of time, but the Emperor would return. Wouldn't that warrant such a risk?

Is it possible the Adeptus Custodes are actually preventing anyone from removing the Emperor from the golden throne deliberately? Like they have a corrupt agenda etc?

Because no one we know of in the Imperium is aware that the Emperor is a perpetual, or what a perpetual is.

What about Celestine, Vulkan? Wouldn't they suspect the emperor to be a perpetual through their own immortality? I'm sure there are many other perpetuals were not aware of. Perhaps Cypher knows. Maybe he really is on his way to Terra to kill the emperor so that he may be resurrected.

Vulkan is sort of not part of the current Imperum. I am also not sure if he was aware that he was one until the first time he was killed by Curze.

Celestine also doesn't know what a perpetual is, in all likelihood.

Maybe the Big E told them to put him in the golden throne even though he was a peretual because he knew Terra would be flooded by daemons from the webway gate Magnus wrecked in his basement and would be beyond saving in the (.....add time here) it took himself to regenerate?

Come into my web, said the spider to the fly.
Come rest your wings, and let us talk eye to eye.
For I am a spider, and you are the fly. Now that you are here, let us sit, and say hi.
But I have have no morsel to share, nor anything to eat. But wait, what is that stickiness upon your feet.
Ah now I have you, now I can eat. Now I can enjoy you, or store you as meat.
For I am the spider, and you are the fly. How else could it have gone, between one such as you, and one such as I.

Apologies for shakin' up your perspective. Just when you think the Grey Knights codex has bothered you enough with its new lore, it throws something else up, huh?
