Well, the point is that CSM are my main (and only) army, so allying CSM with IG is out of question. The opposite could be done, as I like the notion of Renegades. Still, the point of this thread is the idea of fielding a Chaos Baneblade without allies.

Anyway, proper conversion and paint scheme are mandatory . I'd certainly make the Baneblade fit seamlessly with the rest of my Children of Torment. Also, I would definitely talk with the potential opponent about this Baneblade before a game, going all "supraiz behnbleid!" would be silly.

I voted yes, but really it's more of a maybe. A casual game with people you know, then anything goes. As long as you and your opponent agree, you can do whatever you want.

Titans I guess. Maybe that Special Greater Daemon as well. That's about it, really.

I would allow it for a casual game or two maybe, as long as the conversion has been done nicely and it does not unbalance the game. CSM are after all not supposed to use Baneblades.

But I would seriously consider starting a renegade IG army. Not only because of the Baneblades, but mainly because renegade IG is just awesome. The army is also really fun to make, because of the unlimited conversion possibilities.

Yeah, Slaanesh and Tzeentch are left out when it comes to Forge World. No idea why :/

The Mark of Slaanesh does do something interesting for Titans, but it's CC specific. First off, it give the Daemon special rule and makes them hate Khorne. That's useful.

The not so useful one is in the assault phase, where at the start of the round of combat, any models engaged with the Titan must take a ld test at -2 modifier. If they fail, they become initiative 1 for the round.

Considering that Titans are ini 1 with 1 attack anyway, it doesn't really do much.

If only FW made a Subjugator Titan. I'd seriously consider buying one, no matter the cost.

You had better go smack GW and tell them that they are doing it wrong then. In the WD battle report where Apocalypse was originally released, an Iron Warriors Baneblade was present.

Because once you cross that line, where do you stop?

The FoC is fragile enough without braking it further.

You mean the FoC from the Rulebook? Or one you are using that, for some reason, does not accept house rules?

Page 108, Rulebook 6th edition, "The Army List" entry.
"With the points limit agreed, players need to pick their forces. The best way to do this is to make use of the army list in the relevant codex, although, of course, players are free to either adapt the army lists or use their own system as they wish."

That works great in really casual games with your buddies, but can't really work outside of it, because there is bound to be a point of disagreement.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

I would have no problem with CSM taking a Baneblade.

No ulterior motives here. None whatsoever.

But that's Apocalypse, where you can take any combination of units you want. This is about a standard game where you have to obey the army list and FOC limits.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Despite the fact that GW has showcased their own people with Legion-marked superheavies, the rules writer clearly didn't factor that into the decision to lock Baneblade variants to IG and Lords of War to the primary detachment for Escalation. Escalation is rather explicit about Codex requirements and Apocalypse is equally explicit about ignoring said requirements.

What... They didn't? I don't have Escalation, and for some reason I thought they had no superheavy codex requirements. Pffff. Well, more reason not to buy it, I suppose.

Just me derping out people, move along.
