I'm Roberto, =) current plans for the army are GIR ridding a riptide, Zim as Aun'Va (boot cruiser hover platform), Tak as Shadowsun.

So, in reference to original post, which ever army your going to enjoy building and making your own. Because even when the dice betray you, you can still enjoy your army.

I have won against eldar more than tau. However that was over editions past, and currently the top ranked guy in our group who also plays competitively at a national level plays eldar and he can beat pretty much all of us. They seem to have more tricks that you have to exploit, whereas tau are just loaded with cheesy weapons. Of the two i've only used tau before, but i get the impression eldar would be more rewarding and eventually better than most other forces. Plus people dont give you dirty looks.

If you are looking for flexibility, Eldar will be a better choice. Tau are a little too straight forward in terms of battle tactics, simply sit back and watch things fall over as they try to get towards you. At least with Eldar you have a means to not only hold enemy lines back, but also some phenomenal melee deterrents.
