lawful evil

The D&D morality scale seems to be very popular for some reason.

Can we stop with the Emperor larping, its bad enough on 40k wikia, lets not start it here.

1st Blood Gorgans mainly because of their fluff about believing in freedom and honour, maybe their not honorable maybe their just expident, the Iron Warriors would have just killed or enslaved that betrayed guard captain, they turned into him the leader of the Ironclads. But still their expedience makes them likely to keep their word because they tend to favour people being indepted to them rather than being their slaves.
2nd. Night Lords. Because their oaths actually seem to mean something. Unlike the other Legions who just fight for the patronage of whatever God they serve the NL's seem to actually try to get vengeance for their primarch(evidence to this is their battle cry hail the Lord of the Night).
3rd. Death Guard. Because Nurgle is the nice God for whatever reason.

Last Word Bearers Iron Warriors and Black Legion all for the reason that they think their the best, anyone worshiping Slaanesh as well.

No, no.

The Thousand Sons are the most likely to keep their word.

It just doesn't mean what you thought it meant. The literal wording of the oath won't be broken though, and that's the important thing!

I wouldn't agree on the TSons. What are we forgetting about the nature of Tzeentch?

Change. He likes to change things, and his followers backstabbing you would certainly be a change.
An interesting one at that, and he likes interesting things.

I'd say World Eaters. They would flat out tell you they are going to take your skull afer taking the skulls of the common enemy. I think they would have the least guile.

No no... I followed the rules to a tee. See that contract you wrote? That small little fine print? Yeah you should have read it a bit harder.

It depends on what you can offer the Chaos Marines. If you give them plenty of gifts, then they may decide to kill you last.

Hm, we don't know much (really anything) about their "theology" though.

Hm, we don't know much (really anything) about their "theology" though.

We actually know a lot, for instance they have a chain of being pretty similar to most religions and civilization.

Divinity at the top.

Priest Kings (Dark Apostles)
Nobles (CSM)
Common Believers (cultist and mutants)
Conquered unconverted populace (slaves sacrifices and future Believers)
Unbelievers (Imperials and Xenos)

All you've told me is they have a hierarchy. The imperium has the same one. You haven't told me anything about their theology.

Have to ask, trust to do what? Also sticking to an agreement for mutual gain doesn't automatically equal honourable.

There's plenty of canon cases of Chaos forces using mercenaries. Even if said mercs are Chaos-worshipers themselves they are still in it for payment of some kind and not simply to please a god. As such I'm sure there are plenty of CSM groups who uphold their 'contracts' otherwise mercenaries wouldn't offer their services.

Also most of the Legions are now fragmented, even if they haven't completely broken away the individual warband leaders are free to set their own standards.

As others have said, Khorne worshipers emphasising the martial side are probably going to keep their word, at worst telling you the deal is off before disemboweling you.

And also as others have said Tzeentch is totally a Monkey's Paw kind of guy.

Or for the wrestling fans out there, he is the chosen lord of Vince Russo.
