so, how is it that someone who has admitted to being a pimp, theif, and multiple violent offender is able to be the one doing the suing?
are the above no longer crimes that the justice system cares about?

Being convicted of criminal offences does not prohibit someone from filling a civil suit, no matter how frivolous it may be.

I think a far more fitting punishment would be to inform him that the male side of the prison is "full" and that he'll have to be housed among the female population. And for the women's protection, considering his previous profession, the pimp will be handcuffed at all times, but will otherwise be free to move about the general population.
And due to budget problems, thanks to the justice system being overworked from frivolous lawsuits, there will probably be fewer guards on duty than normal, and their response time for fights (or one sided beatings), might be a little long...
