Alright. I know I'm resurrecting this thread, but with lots of relevant material so I hope it's ok. I've gone through about 4 different types of shoulder pads on this guy at this point, and finally decided to mangle some more tyranid bits. I added detail to the tentacles, and added a lot of barbed wire and chain for detail. I still have some sculpting to do to make it look like it's digging into his skin, but you can get the general idea. I think that the modeling part of this piece is on the final stretch, and I wanted to get some feedback before adding the finishing touches. Like always, crit is welcome. The shoulders still seem weird to me, so if anyone wants to link me to bits that could work better don't hesitate.

EDIT: Noticed that on my computer at least, the in thread pics are very poor quality. Please click them for higher res

Generally speaking, if it's your thread and the post includes pictures of new work related to what you're working on, it's just an update and not threadcromancy.

That is a beautiful daemon-thing. Lovely conversion. I like the shoulder pads but feel like they could use some tie in at the tops near the neck. Maybe some stretchy musculature underneath the lip of the plate?

Thanks for the crit! I ended up finishing a few details, but realized the model is getting pretty busy. I finally made the call to start painting him. Here he is in primer - I'm going to start laying down color today!

Can't wait to see the final product!
