Looks like I also have to start not caring about 40k going out of business too! Lol, losing money and fans at the same time is awful and usually tolls the death knell for a company.

But we won't let that happen. If GW can't keep their game running we will. Dakkahammer?

Warhammer as written by those gits in YMDC?

I'd rather eat my models than play with them under those circumstances

So you don't want a game where the answer to every rules query is 'The rule works exactly the way it says it does'?

Yes, the running commentary / unsolicited opinion dumps can be distracting and extremely discouraging. I had a similar experience when I was starting out: seasoned player asked to watch a game, then would not stop talking. He proceeded to tell me why my army sucked, my tactics were wrong, my second-hand minis were poorly painted, oh and of course how his armies rule and how he would win in every situation if he were playing. The worst was when he would ask me if a particular unit had a special ability under certain circumstances... buddy, I don't know -- it's my 4th game ever! Go away. I don't think he even realized he was doing it.

You were firing blast weapons as snap shots?

From the initial Age of Sigmar news thread, when its "feature" list was first confirmed:

A collosal, terrible, flaming, hysterical train wreck with burning clowns running around spraying it with seltzer bottles while ring masters cry out how everything is fine and we should all come in while the dancing elephants lurch around leaving trails of blood behind them.

How could I look away?

No, but every time you had to move a heavy weapons guy or someone who did have a pie plate he'd remind you, as if in the last half a turn you'd forgotten, that "hey, can't fire that blast weapon now" type of comment.

For a while there actually, and I hate to admit it, I let Dark Eldar Jets deepstrike on me, watched idly as they turned full rotations on the table and then moved, then sometimes even rotated some more, then watched them melt all my CSMs into little bloopy globs, and all the while... get this... all the while... I had to have Skyfire to shoot at them properly!!!!!!!

This is why you always read all the books yourself and write out your own list in a clear legible manner.

Gets along better with animals... Go figure.

Ach ok. If you did, that would be a sensible and helpful comment from a guy.

Seriously, there really are two kinds of players. The kind that are all business and want to get the game done as quick as possible (might be time for a 2nd game that way) and then there's the kind that use the game as an excuse to brag about their army or shoot the breeze.

I am, myself, somewhere in the middle. I think the benefit of 40K over, say, a computer game is that you get to socialize. But I do feel sometimes like you have to keep the game moving or else why play?

Ha ha ha, to each his own!
