Yeah, I figured one of those old-school type stories would probably take the title.

In short: Bro, do you even read? Or do you just make it a habit of making yourself look ignorant and foolish?

Your whole self-quote there parrots something I'd already posted in the thread.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Uh huh, non-sequitur argument.

Only if you're dim. I posted a thing. You came along and said it was wrong, and then posted what I had posted, as if it somehow proved that I was wrong, rather than simply repeating what I had said.

Your post was a non-sequitur in that it didn't address the argument I posited as to whether or not you read my post, merely that what I had posted was a repeat of something you had said. If you had read my post, you would have realized that my post, despite proving that you were factually incorrect regarding the 'piddly number of planets' and that Star Trek 'encompassed more space' (which is, again, irrelevant to the question posed in the original post) was actually IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU that the OP was INCORRECT in stating that the Imperium of Man was the largest sci-fi empire, AND THAT THE STAR WARS GALAXY IS (was, as Kid_Kyoto pointed out, there are larger) NOT ONLY A LARGER SETTING, BUT ALSO HAD A LARGER *EMPIRE*.

In other words, I was correcting some very erroneous statements you made, as well as an irrelevant comparison by way of settings vs. empires, while re-affirming that you were correct regarding Star Wars. READING COMPREHENSION, DO YOU HAVE IT!??

What, you think I actually read posts before replying? Are you new here? This is the internet! There's no time or space for things like "reading" or "reasonable discussion" or nuances of opinion! Things must be done quickly, and with loud noises, and must either be the Greatest Thing Ever or Worse Than 100 Hitlers.

The Burble

A bunch of Jack Vance stuff tops the Imperium or matches it. He also is smart enough to not generally have a single galaxy spanning authority,,, which has always seemed ridiculous to me. A fair amount of Sci Fi tropes derive from him but that is less well known, possibly because he is better known for his fantasy work.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.
