Centurions have no natural invul save, and prescience only give re-rolls to hit - which grav cannons have anyway. And vanilla SM libbies can't get Divination powers - but DA and Inquisition can, though Inquisition can only be ML1 unless he grabbed Coteaz. Seems like you were bamboozled.

Curses. Foiled again. It was my first time fighting centurions so I just took what he said at face value. I asked him about it, maybe he'll pull some justification out of the bag. If he really did just conjure that 4++ save out of thin air then maybe DPs arent quite as feeble as I thought.

Yeah. Trust me, if Cents had a higher toughness, better invul, more wounds, AND more guns than terminators there would be no discussion as to their points cost. Everybody would be running full lists of them.

Yeah, totally. I remember commenting during the game that I didnt know why everyone was bothered by their costs, 'cos they were so damn good! So, in light of that, I must experiment further. Oh apparently he had a grav amp that gave him re-roll to wound, and the librarian & tech marine was buffing them with a power field. There we go.

That checks out. However - if you made it into CC with them, the PFG would also grant YOUR units a 3+ invul. Something to keep in mind.

Do you think it would be better to run Belakor as part of my CSM list or ally in Daemons & use him in combination with one of their princes/fateweaver/LoC?

Allies can't take two HQs, and I'm not sure if the Great Daemon HQ - unlocks DPs as heavy works in allies. I'd run Be'Lakor CSM, he's a tough warlord to crack for the kill and a terrifying force multiplier.

Wow, so centurions do get a reroll to wound with their grav weapons (grav amp gives it). They have a 2+ with no invulnerable save though he could get worewarning or take DA allies for a PFG.
Even with iron arm you should smash against multi wound models with a DP as most of his attacks come from + attacks modifiers that add after dividing. This almost doubles his damage output. I would also hesitate to judge a unit on what appears to be extraodinary rolling of 4+ saves. Automatically Appended Next Post: Be'Lakor is much better as a CSM HQ. He is tough, easy to hide, has full telepathy, and is pretty good in CC. Though he is priced for those abilities (expensive). Puppet master one unit of cents to shoot another one would definitely be worth it though.
BTW you can actually have 2 Inquisitor HQs as allies. You can only have 1 DA libby though which means only 1 PFG as inquisitors don't get them.
