The Ultramarines have the largest chapter fleet, on par and maybe even superior to the BT.

They have their own Forge World, Inquisition Fortress World, Orbital Shipyards, agri-world, sector fleet, multiple regiments of PDF superior to IG equivalants. They don't pay the Imperial tithe, have an independent treaty with Mars and Titan, and are one of the few chapters that can build new suits of armour, new vehicles, and new ships without outside aide.

Add to this the considerable influence they have to bring in Segmentum assets, and one can see how a hive fleet can be brought down.

Didn't an Admiral "save" the fleet battle by overloading his ships warp drive in the middle of the swarm, tearing the main hive ships apart? It's been a long time since reading about that part of the fluff, so I am foggy.

true when I say the guard, that's more my saying "the guard and similer units"

the Macragge PDF is pretty much in terms of equipment and training a Guard unit. and proably on par with some of the better ones too.
