Go Tau.

Necrons are an assault-range army. They do their best shooting from the bleeding-edge of the short range bracket, and that can be a VERY hard playstyle to master. Tau are much easier to learn to play. I would NOT recommend Necrons for a beginner.

an army ful of arnies, you can't lose with them!!

8000 points fully painted
hive fleet belphegor 3500 points
1k sons killteam

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one

Nowadays, it seems more like an army full of cyber snakes and croissants of varying sizes with just a couple of obligatory Arnies off to the side to mind the objectives.

Necrons: 4000+ pts
Tyranids: 1000+ pts
Word Bearers: 1500+ pts
Emperor's Children: 1500+ pts
Minotaurs: 2000+ pts (killed by Primaris, thanks GW)
Custodes: 1000+ pts

Anyone saying pick Necrons because they are easier to paint is insane. Tau you pretty much just need a spraycan and a highlight and you have 1000 pts painted daily. Not particularly inspiringly, but seriously, they are possibly the easiest army to paint in the game

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

I'm no painted but necrons look... uh... Well I'd take a Necron painting request before I took a Tau one.

But then again... I REALLY want to play a Dalek themed necron army SO BAD...
