-There are guard dogs on a roof. Why? It makes no sense. Do you see dogs in ass greed's roofs?

Why does it "not make sense" for guard dogs to be on a roof? Is the roof all by its lonesome, a separate piece of structure with no way up in the form of stairs?

Guard dogs on a roof makes perfect sense. Dogs can climb stairs. And who cares about what Assassin's Creed does?

-It's not an issue with gamma, brightness or settings. The devs said that they wanted the player be able to see in the dark. Problem with this that it is a slowed idea. Sure now the player can see in "pitch black" but it also makes harder to distinguish what is pitch black and what is not. This issue becomes even worse when you start fiddling with difficulty setting as that makes guards see better in the dark. In spliter cell 1 you easily tell are you perfectely hidden or not.

First of all? If you cannot phrase your issues without referring to something as "slowed", don't speak. Dakka is a family friendly forum and some members do have mentally handicapped children, parents, or siblings.
Second of all? It's a fine idea. Just because you have difficulty distinguishing what is pitch black and what is not(hint: when you have the "shroud" around your view, then you're hidden in pitch black) does not mean that the developers did poorly or any other nonsense. It means you might have to adjust your monitor/TV to compensate.

-This is the main hub area of the game. There 2 places where you use "rope arrows": http://i.imgur.com/eTk2LfQ.jpg . There is more rope arrow usage in the thief 1 demo than there is in the entire game of thiaf.

So the fact that the "main hub area of the game" only has 2 places for rope arrows means that there are no other uses for them in any of the side missions or story missions?

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

I installed it and played for about 20 min yesterday before I had to go to work. It seemed to have all the same elements I remember from the late 90s, so far so good. Big fan of the franchise.

This makes me extremely happy to hear, as that sort of game feel is all I'm asking for out of the game. This is going on my purchase list.

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. All brisbanites welcome, don't wait, check out our Club Page on Facebook group for details or to organize a game. We play all sorts of board and war games, so hit us up if you're interested.

Pubhammer is Moving! Starting from the 25th of May we'll be gaming at The Junction pub (AKA The Muddy Farmer), opposite Ace Comics & Games in Annerley! Still Sunday nights from 6:30 in the Function room Come along and play Warmachine, 40k, boardgames or anything else!

To me, its "meh".

- The Levels are too small and linear, which feels like a huge amount of wasted potential, especially since the free-running is fun. Also a major downgrade from the previous games, which had HUGE sprawling Levels.

- NPC's and dicoveries in most missions are very boring. Most siderooms are just containers for more loot, without any actual challenge getting to them. Conversations between NPC's are looping and mostly uninteresting. Its still somewhat fun picking a place completely clean, buts its more to please my inner completionist than actual fun.

- Customizeable Difficulty is fantastic, I recommend that you seriously jack it up a notch, since its way tooe asy even on normal. Personally, I also disabled the focus.mechanics, since it felt like cheating.

- The story reset felt unnecessary, since Thief 3 allready somehwhat wrapped up the story and ended with Garret getting an apprentice. Doing a complete reboot wasnt really needed imho.

Overall, its not bad, but dissapointing. And DEFINETLY not worht the current price tag. Wait for a 50% or even better, a 75% sale and then get it.

Tried to google this but not found anything; can somebody confirm that there are no Hammers / Pagans / Keepers in Thiaf?

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Been looking forward to this for a long time, hope it lives up the the previous three.

I have heard mixed reviews though.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

The game takes place several hundred years after the original three games. Those organizations have been outlawed. There are references to them though.

I've really enjoyed the game. Yeah, it's a bit linear at times, but I feel that it has the same levels of intensity that the previous games had. The Asylum level, hated it. Not because of how it was made though, but because it spooked the hell out of me. I also really enjoy the openness of the city.

Main complaints. NPC's. They have a repeating conversation, if you find yourself sitting somewhere for longer then thirty seconds, you'll most likely hear the same convo two or three times. Linearness of most of the levels. There is one path to take most times, and it's a little constricting. Leads me to speed through the level, and I tend to miss things because I get that tunnel vision.

All in all, a worthy addition to the series, and one I'm hopeful will see new additions to.
