I find that difficult to believe considering that even inquisitors can ally to CSM. We shall see in a month.

See the VOTLW tax doesn't bother me as I usually use cultists and zombie anyways. I also usually use the BL as my allied detachment as I usually just want the altar of war and last memory (and mo'oblits of course where the VOTLW can be very worthwhile)

Double FOC requires the same codex in the allied detachment as far as I know. However it might be possible to field GK primary, Knights allied, Ghost Warriors dataslate (1 Wraithknight, 2 Wraithlords, and 3 units of Wraithguard), and Tau Firebase Support Cadre (6 broadsides and 1 Riptide) all in a single FOC. Of course you are looking at over 2000 pts off the top of my head.

Can CSM ally with the Inquisition? I could of sworn it was come the apoc.

I don't know if we're allowed links here for non dakka/GW site, but there is a tutorial *somewhere* for converting and painting your standard tac marines as LoTD. I personally can't paint the flames on so I've made my own take on a LoTD that are ghosts of my chapter of marines. (That's not unfluffy, right?)


Hmm, on topic though, I heard from the guy that owns the LGS that it'll come in hardback and that it's going to be allied detachment only.
I'll have to ask him and double check tomorrow when he's open (10:37PM right now).

He may have misread or misinterpreted it.

I've never seen anything like that on it while I've been there, and I know it's not recasts.

I paid $17 for a codex to use 5 LotD models that cost me $60 ($72 after painted)... That is a 160ish pts....there is maybe 11 useful pages for game play, no characters, no dreadnoughts, etc.... just an elite ally choice.... *sigh*
