Hi everyone. I've been thinking heavily the last few days on this subject and want some opinions. Why do the pre heracy dreds look so much better and pack a much better punch than post heracy ones. It would look more sensible the other way round since the contemptors look agile and all round more modern. The standard dreds I mean look cack in comparison. They look blocky and they look like they walk with the 80's robo style music in the background. I dunno has there been a visual mistake with this that upsets other players or collectors?

Fluff: Because, after the fall of mars, 30k technology and gak is much more advanced than 40k technology and gak, newly discovered STC's withstanding.

Real: FW designers are getting better and better at designing bitchin' models and rules!

Exactly this.

Fluff can go on and on about the regression of technology, but that doesn't stop GW from making a codex about a way more advanced robot that is suddenly present all over the place.

With advancement in GW's production process, they are able to create better representations of models from their fluff interpretations. Dreadnoughts date back to a time when production abilities were more limited. As technology improved, GW minorly adjusted the dreadnought size, but by then the size was already set (I personally think this is the same reason Space Marine models are small compared to their fluff interpretation).

Forgeworld was free to go where they chose with a model that hadn't seen an update since the times when Land Raiders were rolling trapezoidal toasters.

Temple Prime

Well a big theme of the Imperium is stagnation and decline. While I personally favor interpretations of the AdMech as being competent scientists and engineers but being held back by an immense degree of conservatism (they clearly have a good grasp on scientific principles based on most of their logs, just mixed with religious dogma) I recognize that it is this same conservatism and belief that everything worth discovering was already discovered in humanity's past that means that when they lose the instructions to produce something, it is effectively lost with no effort put into trying to build something to those specifications because that would be sacrilegious to the design.

In addition; even during the Horus Heresy it was noted that Contemptor (and venerable contemptors) and Venerable dreads (the ones with the tiny heads) were more complex to produce than the regular boxy dreads.which ended up making up the majority of the dreads produced anyway. The Imperium generally prefers things they can build and maintain easily if they intend to use it en masse; hence why the Leman Russ is so popular, it's not only cheap and fast to produce; it's so easy to keep running even a child could do it (and in the case of whiteshield crews, children do in fact, maintain it) and the techpriests have an easy time repairing them.

As for contemptors they are great an example of imperial tech at its prime, but that very complexity works against you when you want to mass produce any product, in the time you build one contemptor you can build two or three boxy dreads so that's what becomes the standard.

Actually the fact is you don't know how the pyramids were made and it's just a theory taught from early years at school which seem to have brain sunk most people from having the ability to think 3 dimensionally. Recent studies have proven it was a built structure to be used a chemical reactor rather than a housing for the dead Egyptian kings. The fact that the sphinx has a timeline 6000 years older than the ancient Egyptian civilization also gives us a clue that something is dodgy with the history lessons we have all had regarding the pyramids. The rock has sever weathering and such heavy rainfall to do that much damage to rock happened during a time zone of approx 10000 bc. The sphinx was originally a lion designed to stare at the first sunrise of the first new day of the year. That point on earth is the focal point to our first sunrise of every New Years morning and our friends in Egypt found it there ready to have its head re chiseled into its present day king. Hence why it's head today is way smaller in proportion than the rest of its body.

My point is.....don't be too sure that what one source says is the correct one. There are many possibilities of who and what created it. Just depends how sceptic we are about believing these other possibilities

I just blacked out and murdered 12 people, which usually only happens when people regurgitate what they see on ancient aliens with a straight face.

1. Proof for this when there's no sign of anything like a power plant but ample evidence of it being used to enshrine the Pharaoh's ego?

2. Wot? Proof? Preferably from reputable sources and not crazy people?

3. The answer for the weathering is quite simple; The Conquering Romans stripped or outright destroyed a lot of Egyptian artifacts to use their materials for their own construction projects. The Romans ripped away the original beautiful white coverings to build roads, leaving what you see now.

4. Somewhat plausible as the Egyptians were big on astronomy, believing it to be a holy science.

It's quite straight forward that there are more loop holes if some intelligent person actually tried adding the things we do know instead of trodding on other possibilities. Firstly what if aliens built them??? Can you step up and say they didn't for a fact?? We have the building there yet no decorations of Egyptian glyphs or signatures it was used for a king dumping ground. As for proof of it being a power plant you only need an engineers method of thinking to see it's the perfect structure for mixing 2 main chemicals within the bottom chamber. They found traces of hydrochloride acids on the walks proving it had this substance heavily contained. This is our substance for present day batteries.

Ancient aliens and other such shows only raise the question not claiming this is what it was and how it was. They show facts and raise the questions - you deduct what you feel is right.

Do some homework and you will see it's not as straight forward as you think. Stone traveling 2000 miles away is one thing but pulling them up into form that's something else. No tools left to prove any hidden or lost technology.

Obviously. This is my opinions but I started a straight line like yourself. Then I started doing some research and it's amazing what else pops along the way to one question. Our history is filled with such mysteries and it's more truth that there is something going on under the radar. You don't inform the masses they are being controlled or manipulated through media every day but most of us are waking up to these powers. Still think 9/11 was a hijack for example....?.?

as an off topic comment, but on topic to the above... i was inside those pyramids not 2 months back... and i have never read a bigger load of codswallop... aside from dealing with egyptologists there and going over the details of the building of the pyramids with them, which is the greatest feat of engineering the world has ever seen, with some of the most complicated maths around that went into them, that around each of the main "3" you see in giza there is around 80 OTHER pyramids in egypt of various sizes and states of disrepair. that they are on the side of the nile for death and the setting of the sun and so many other acienct egyptian cultural/religos reasons... no... power plants... i think not, the sphinx thousands of years older, nope. they know which of the egyptian kings had them build and for whom... so just no. oh and there was a LOT of slave labour involved.... not all but they all sure as hell werent paying 65000 people to make just one of them

the above does not denote that there may NOT be aliens, just they did not build the pyramid

Claiming that aliens built the pyramids is an insult to the Ancient Egyptians and Lizard People that actually built them.

Praise be their names!

Haha don't forget to add that the lizards are intact top tier illuminati characters controlling the world through lower level mason organizations.

Nyarlathotep taught humanity how to build them, duh, just as he later taught mankind the secrets of the atom.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
