I said mostly useless and as you concur most of the time it gives you no benefit I don't see how that's different? I didn't say entirely useless just gives infrequent marginal benefits.

My problem is that Useless is a universal. Something can't be partially useless, because if it has a single use, then it is not, by definition, lacking in use. Word Choice is what I was calling you up on, not the thinking behind the words. We agree that it comes up very little, but whereas I'll always make my opponent test for fear (and soul blaze, because It can do wounds.) on the basis that once in a while he'll fail it.

I love the fact that all my daemons have fear. I also find it hilarious that Eldar have a specific rule that gives them fear against slaanesh daemons.

CS supplement is just flatout better than the original in pretty much every way much like the Iyanden one for Eldar. I'd advise every chaos player to use it. Though that advice has nothing to do with the army wide Fear.

Burning Brand, Black Mace, Axe of Blind Fury, and LD 9 Vet Obliterators highly disagree. CS isnt even close to being "better" but it is good to have options. Two good artifacts and both can just be allied into. Armor for a Nurgle Biker Lord (which ya is pretty cool!) and the Divination doodad, which personally I think the item is a poor trade off for the point cost. Still good though overall just because divination is so powerful. But thats a balance issue of another conversation. The Warlord traits of CS can be good too. I agree there.

However the "chapter tactics" of CS is pathetic. Fear, Chosen, and Possessed are just bad. Terrible even.

The balestar is overcosted in your opinion?

Not only does it give divination, but also rerolls for psychic tests.

If your taking a CSM sorcerer, you were already taking the spell familiar for rerolls to psychic tests.

So instead of the familiar you buy the balestar and your getting divination for 10 points basically. That's dirt cheap... Especially when your advocating veterans on Oblits which IS actually overpriced.

YMDC has plenty of room for discussion veering away from the RAW, particularly in cases like this where what is being put forward as the RAW is absurd.

No. Youre not always going to bother with the Familiar. Its ok, but honestly not -always-. But familiar is worth the points sometimes. But see. Youre leaving off the part where the Star also carries a penalty as well. Nice omission. And now if you come back telling me that rolling Deny the Witch isnt worth doing anyway....

Nicest way I can put this is let us just agree to disagree.
