I'm commuting from home, so not much boozing.
My buddy and I will be there, playing in the Doubles Front Tournament on Friday, and a Kill Team tournament on Saturday.
Should be fun!

After playing with ToF for the last 3 GT's I've attended, I'm definitely missing it here. On the other hand, I'm glad I'm not filling out those stupid-detailed ToF scorecards.
Oh and yay, I seeded 16th!

Congrats on Best General in the team tourney Mike. You guys looked dapper, too
Hulksmash's team got best sportsmen (along with Nick who won the singles) after winning best overall the last two years, and Mannahnin / Everliving's team got best imperial.
Our team got exactly middle of the pack (57th) running several softball lists including 2 nids with only 1 FMC between them, so quite happy with that

Did worse then I thought for LOTR but my 2 losses were VERY close to being major victories vs miror losses. Oh well had a good time either way.
In fantasy I did much better then I thought I would. I got tabled first game by a dark elf witchstar and lost by 250vp in the second against an empire list. The 3rd game I played another darkelf witchstar that was very different then the first which I won by over 2000vp. The 4th game was against demons and won that by 1000vp. The 5th game was against a 100% chariot warriors of chaos army. Was an extremely bloody battle but he failed to kill off my expensive blocks and scored another win by about 1000vp.
Had a GREAT time for my first adepticon. Everyone I played were very cool and not too drunk.

Man, I sooooo want to go!! But I cant. Not finished with these Ork armies I was kind of stuck with (Gork n Mork are fickle deity's).
By next year, I'll have my Dread Mob up and running, and a green tide.(PAINstakingly painting green, green, green, and a bit more,green...see a pattern anywhere?)
Also, by next year, maybe the Boyz will get a shiny hew codex. Yay!
But for real, next year, I'm going. Even if I have to sell my ex wife...I'm going.
Cheers mates!! A.J.

I was beyond surprised when the judges came over to tell me that our team was in the running for Team Spirit, and then to find out we won was by far the best birthday present ever.
Had a blast. Glad to be home and giving my bed a face hug, but missing the camaraderie.

Super fun. Super awesome. Grimwulfe's Space Dwarves full-conversion army and display (and a bit of painting by the rest of us) were a home run, getting us in the army showcase for the team tourney and taking a big share of the credit for our Best Imperial showing.
Hanging out and drinking and playing with fellow Dakkanauts and other awesome gamers new and old never gets old.
Got to meet and play with Frankie from Frontline (who is awesome), finally got to play a game against Greg Sparks and THE Mike Mutschuller (at the same time, no less), and many other awesome people. Dave, Eric, Frankie, Jeremy, thanks for four great games in the Championships. Thanks to teams Codex Toledo, 40k Fight Club: Adept Warriors, Better Late Than Pregnant, Sons of Scotty, and Team Stormbolter for some excellent and often epic games (even when my table took a couple of beatings, from Sons of Scotty and 40k Fight Club). Getting to play (and get very, very drunk with) the Norwegians in round 5 was a perfect capstone to a great Team Tourney.
Thanks again to Hank and Matthias and Joe and Dave and Chris and all the other organizers and staff for once again putting on an amazing show.
Thanks to all the Mods who showed up and hung out with me and drank and listened to my terrible jokes and excellent musical recommendations and shook my hand.
Thanks to everyone who busted their ass and fielded gorgeous armies and displays this weekend.
Thanks to the guys from BoD (Basement of Death?) for building and running the amazing multi-level six-player Space Hulk extravaganza which helped refresh my feelings of hobby awesomeness on Friday.
Thanks to Jared and Frank and Ken and Steve for sharing the epic pimp ride in the stretch Escalade that Windy City sent me this morning.
It was epic. Can't wait for lucky #13.

It's a literal Space Mountain . Love it!
We got to play against the team that won best xenos theme, which was also an amazing army!
Does anyone have a pic of the overall best painted? I recognized the teams for most of the others and could identify which army had been theirs, but wasn't sure on best painted (someone mentioned it was Eldar but that doesn't really narrow it down as there were quite a few Eldar armies in the showcase).

Still waiting on the final standings but from what I've heard me and DevianID's team (Roll 2 Wound) ended up #8th overall. Not bad for an army we hadn't played before this weekend. We used our pre-heresy traitor legions with 4x centurion lists. Two lists had Iron Hands bike chapter masters with either the shield or the gorgon chain, one list had Tiggy, and the last had Loth which was fun. We had 20 Space Crusade era Dreads being used as Centurions. We were giving out heresy themed drinks (jaeger bombs for the Sons of Horus spearhead, a Death Guard nurgle goop drink made with creme de menthe and irish cream, Emperor's Children had smirnoff ices, and of course our World Eaters had bloody mary's for the blood god). For singles I think I finished #13th overall, still have to check how I finished in just battle points. Had 3 crushing victories but unfortunately lost a game in the 3rd round. Was not a big fan of that mission (the scouring one where a minimum of 7 points were necessary to win it), as it essentially made the round a one dimensional kill points mission. Can't blame my loss all on that though, I should have played better. Just sharing my two cents though as I don't know many players who actually achieved that scouring objective unless they tabled their opponent. All in all though, big thanks to the Adepticon crew for putting together another awesome event. This was my 2nd year attending and I think I had even more fun despite not making it back to day 2. Seeing everybody really highlights weekends like this one, and it was great to see all the familiar faces I've grown accustomed to hanging out with at GTs. The biggest shame is that we're about to be in the dry spell of the GT season. Had a great deal of fun. Congrats to all the winners, especially Nick on the repeat!

While AdeptiCon is mainly a social celebration of the miniature wargaming hobby, attendees also find the time to open their wallets and support a myriad of fantastic causes!
This year AdeptiCon attendees, Badger Airbrush (who donated all of Sunday’s proceeds to the cause), Battle Foam and Mantic Games contributed over $7200 benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project and The Center for Youth and Family Solutions. Much gratitude and a hearty round of applause to everyone who participated!
CHARITY TOTAL FOR 2014: $7238!!!!
Fair play indeed.
