Does the Officer of the Fleet test on the Commander's Ld9, or on his native Ld? On a related note, does a priest test for War Hymns on his Ld7, or the highest leadership of the unit (8 with sergeant, 9 with commissar/psyker)?

They're just called "Leadership Tests" so highest Leadership unless we get FAQ'd otherwise.

Not really it's been established before that measure to model includes transports, the question came up for something else in another codex as well. I can't remember which, maybe Orks?Yeah, I think maybe it was Orks or new Chaos. specifically remember that those abilities work when in transports unless otherwise stated.

Ork KFF IIRC back at the start of 6th (it's in the main rulebook FAQ), but then DA got their Invul Bubble from insider vehicles changed, so it looks like 6th is swinging it the other way now honestly.

I mean yes, it works now, I just don't put it past GW to take our toys away later is all.

My only issue with the Aquila is it's so good that it makes the CCS even more of a target. Maybe in a Bastion? Basically have an AV14 command bunker. You're Aquila and Standard would be measured from it's largish base, and your Lascannon and MoO would be free to fire from ports. You'd lose orders, which sucks, and might make it not worth it at all. Might be something you'd consider if you went crazy with HWSs. They fail orders half the time anyway, so protection for the flag and Preferred Enemy is maybe worthwhile.

Well being able to give preferred enemy and put out orders is pretty powerful.

I'd wonder if Astropaths and Officer of the Fleets, MoO would allow them to use their abilities with in the transport.

Telepathy is how ever a great one because it is a witchfire power.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

While I wish the Astropath was only 20 points, alas it's 25 points. Nice concise write up in any case.

Ah. Still getting my head around the new codex, I'll go back and edit. Thanks for spotting it quickly. I think the Astropath is still worth it at 25, though.

I play CCS barebones or only with a vox and I recommend you that. Even without any upgrades it is the priority target for enemy fire, for enemy outflank units, for enemy deep strike units, etc...why? Because generals orders are just too good. Your enemy should always kill the general first, the rest of the army is not so effective without him...

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Third ditch from the left, Istvaan V

That might work. But if needs be I'd drop the vox, since you've got a 2/3rds chance of passing first time anyways.

By 'if needs be' I mean if I was trying to save points.
