Wait....people watch other people play video games on the internet?

Yeah, and you have 2 kinds, you can watch competitive gameplay like DOTA tournaments and such

OR

Watch "Let's Plays", people who play games and comment while they play.

I'm a "Let's Play" viewer, it's great fun if the guy who does the LP is really into it or if he/she is funny. 2 youtubers I enjoy are Kikoskia and Helloween.

On topic: Well, it's kinda rare to read such positive news thanks LotH!

Sips from the Yogscast is one that I enjoy very much, along with the Achievement Hunter channel.

But otherwise, stay the feth out, you smelly, antisocial bastards, because we're scared you are going to say something that goes against our mantra of absolute devotion to the corporate motherland and we actually perceive any of you who've been gaming more than a year to be a hostile entity as you've been exposed to the internet and 'dangerous ideas'. I enjoy watching rowing because I row myself so I know the technique and can appreciate seeing it done well and the differences between better and worse crews. I also enjoy watching very junior bad crews giving it everything they've got, despite their awful technique, because it is heartwarming to see people doing their very best "just because".

It is also a good excuse for a day out by the riverside or on a boat, though often it is a day out in cold, damp and drizzle. (There tends to be a lot of water involved in the sport.)

Don't get me wrong, I watch sport. I just realise that it's essentially very silly that we get engaged in watching someone else run around, or row or whatever else.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

And there's nothing wrong with a bit of silliness.

But the alternative is me running around and doing whatever else, and I just don't think I can handle that right now

I occasionally watch live streams, but not often. The only one I distinctly remember was a Starcraft II tournament when one of the commentators jokingly suggested a player do a mothership rush and ten minutes later everyone freaks out when the player does exactly what the commentator said and mothership rushed his opponent XD Funny gak.
