As I recall, all the old Land Speeder models had the same vehicle that guy is sitting on too.

I'd actually love if they still sold the older editions of other models. BUT, only so I can have some old Tyranids (They fall into "So bad its good" territory. Just look at an old warrior and try not to laugh.)

My necron army is nearly all made of the old metals, as it dates back to when they came out in White Dwarf for 2nd edition. I love them, even the 5-man squad of armchair destroyers, and swarms made of the metal scarabs grouped three to a 40mm base. For troops, only had the urge to get the new plastic wraiths, and the metal ones from 3rd edition suck.

Plus, isn't the old Necron Lord still metal? I would rather pay 15 dollars for an elderly metal sculpt than a modern Finecast one, any day of the week.

Oh, snap! My army's in the same boat, although in my case it's Crypteks that I got in plastic. Well, that and a couple of fliers just because.

My old Destroyers now serve as Tomb Blades.

Yeah, if I get anything to update the army it will be Wraiths and maybe the command barge. Because my army dates all the way back to 2nd, I have models from all over the range, so I have metal Pariahs to use for Crypteks.

Ah, I use Chaos Androids as Deathmarks (I used to use them as Pariahs).

I do, however, use metal Warriors as Immortals, because they're too bulky to be the new Warriors, really - and it lets me use the original Immortals in my collection as Pyrrean Eternals.

No, they were different.

They probably cast the OOP models to order so there is no loss whatsoever by having them priced high.

Is that a standard land speeder, no conversions or anything? Because that looks awesome, and would do nicely for the main body of a mech I plan on making. Its metal though, right?

Thats just a comical model change imo. The second model looks like a cross between a Necron and a Tiki Witchdoctor type character to me lol...his face looks like a tiki mask! and he has a crapton of "beads" on his back it looks like lol.

Never actually seen that model, everyone i know that uses necrons just kitbash a random warrior into that guy

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

The second is the older one, so its not a comical model change but a pretty rational one.

I use the new lord for a Lord and the old Lord for a Cryptek so I use them both.
