Jump force is fun, just needs some more support which I'll get eventually

What support are you thinking of?

For starters, whatever I can afford lol. Hence why I was insisting so much on Terminators and Tacticals, it's what I have and easy to afford.

Ideally I want devastators up the wazoo.

Going to keep the Terminators I already painted and use them as Assault Terminators, deep strike them in somewhere

If you want terminators, I would suggest stormraven or landraider transport. Deep striking gives them a turn in the middle of their army doing nothing.

I'm a big fan of stormravens. If you put termies in them I recommend assault termies with stormshields in case it gets shot down. This makes an excellent mobile reaction force. Just be aware that you will not get these guys into assault until turn 3 at the earliest, and plan accordingly.

Until I get Land Raiders, I'll use them as normal shooty, I have them already painted and I refuse to not use models I already own, ends up being an enormous waste of money

The downside of the plasma gunners is the fact that they are rapid fire, so no charge afterwards. Still - I think they will be more competitive than the VVs, as the VVs will cost a huge amount of points.
However - the VVs will look utterly awsome with dual LCs!

Scratch that, going to hold off on the Terminators until I can get actual Assault Terminators with Land Raiders.

Friend will need to either repaint them or have different colors to tell squads apart

Didn't want to start a new thread for a blood angels related question.

I am either picking up an honor guard squad with 4 plasma gun, bp and cc on the Sanguinary priest and jump packs or a vanguard squad with 5 dual lightening claws.

Both offer awesome gameplay and modelling opportunities, Since I have to pick one for now, I was wondering what you guys thought.

20LC attacks on the charge or 4/8 Fnp mobile plasmagunners?

Neither sound that good.

If you insist on getting one, get the command squad. VV's are not competitive.

If you don't care about them being effective, you should just pick up the sanguinary guard pack. You can model them as vets, honor guard, or sanguinary guard and it's a great kit with loads of BA bits.

So, the verdict for Terminators in a BA list is a negative then? If so, I should probably let the seller know before he shows up with them tomorrow lol

Personally I would wait till the new codex is out before buying certain units, say termis, sang guard, dc and most hq except possibly a libby in power armor that rarely fails.

You cannot go wrong with assaults squads, a pod or two, and a furioso dread so you can either magnetize the body for either libby/fragioso/dc loadouts , or just buy in ebay those bits you may need so you can have a 2nd type dread.

Sounds good. I would really hate to have a ton of Terminators that I'd never use.

I like the idea of 40 Assault Marines with some Devastators and Baal's as backup better tbh

The Baals in particular are a great support for BA assault marines - they can keep up and still dish out pain. Not that regular Terminators are bad in a larger game - home them in on a beacon for no scatter and have them open up on an enemy support squad. I can guarantee the opponent will have a hard time deciding what to shoot, the jumping 3+ save assault marines geting close or the 2+ save termies already in his backfiald.

The fact that they are as tough as 5 tactical marines and sit in the middle of the field when they deep strike and get shot down.

How many points are they again?

Devastators aren't worth their points for BA. Try Las Preds.

Yeah realized that this morning. Decided on getting more mech support so I got a Ball and some vindicators to roll with my Death Company
