I strongly agree here. 30k is a drop in the bucket for KFC, and the way they've handled this has earned my goodwill. This is a good example of great CSR.

Well there is the possibility of a precedent being set. If they let the family get away with these sorts of bogus claims and making money out of doing so, they invite other unscrupulous people to go running to the press with similar stories.

If there really is no evidence that this incident actually happened I think KFC would by daft to let them get away with it.

I'd press charges against the parents, but I'd ensure that the money donated to the little girl was used FOR the little girl, and not to buy the parents a new TV and some shiny rims.
