4 Wave Serpents and 2 Wraithknights with an impossible to kill Farseer at 1500. And people wonder why i complain that my Dark Eldar have no chance vs Eldar. Guess i will just keep refusing games against people who are using more then 2 Serpents. Sigh, anyhow

Your list is about as Netlisted as you can get, you will find a hundred variations just by googling it. But for your list i would recommend dropping the Rangers in exchange for 3 Jetbikes, 5 Ranger shots won't make any real difference and they are the only unit in your army *capable* of giving away first blood. 3 EJB in reserve will do you better objective/maelstrom wise. I'd also advise you drop the Farseer in exchange for an Autarch, because a single Farseer at 1500 will barely get a spell off.

Assuming you are playing competitively, because if you are not then running this list is a *complete* dick move, then you should assume to be playing against other competitive lists. Seer Council, Daemon Factory, Screamer Star/Flying Circus, Many Guard lists. All of these lists bring Pykers in much higher volume then you do, meaning they have much higher static Warp Charges and will be able to effortlessly stop the spells you most need from going off. With a single Farseer the highest possible Warp Charge is 9 (6+3), which means you are getting one 2 WC and one 1 WC power off at best. Not a great use of points. Take a Mantarch instead with Fusion Gun and maybe a fancy magic sword from the Lyanden supplement, he will serve you better as a Scalpel then the Farseer spending all game failing to get off some spells...

Well needless insults aside (although putting Altered Serpent Spam in the title and then taking a completely generic Serpent list was asking for it a bit) here's my thoughts on Mantlseer vs Solitarch:

Many of the Deathstars will go away in 6.5 (hopefully tournaments will change to playing 7th soon once the reactionary fear has worn off). Seercouncil got hurt by the nerf to psychic powers. Farsight Bomb and Gravstar (and to a lesser extent Screamerstar) don't really start going until 1750 if not 1850 so sticking at 1500 reduces how often he'll come up against that type of build. I doubt we'll see many Daemon Factories in competitive play because it isn't that great and Tournament players are in general lazy hobbyists and the practicality of getting the extra 2k+ of models painted for the Tournament which put paid to it.

So that leaves beast pack which doesn't generate huge WC and Grey Knights. Plus I expect Orks to be very popular because loads of people love them and they have a new 'dex which are again low WC. So yes in some matchups the Farseer won't cast much but at least he gives you a better shot at stopping that key power or at least forcing your opponent to roll more of his dice at it meaning he casts less other powers.

Also the Solitarch is more points (though he has the spare available). He's more difficult to use and can be flat ignored by some armies (Orks for example). However he is still a good choice and which to take will come down to play style and which you'd prefer to model. Personally I'd keep with the Farseer but the Solitarch is certainly worth a look.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

I stick with the farseer because the only powers I really want to get off are blessings (prescience on a wraithknight being chief amongst those), plus he is a 155 point character that basically always deny's warlord. Comparatively the solitarch is in general of no real use to the k list, he's simply something that I'm going to manage to put far too close to my opponent and is going to end up slaughtered in combat.

I believe there is nothing more useful or polite for people to add on how to make this list work better for me in a tournament scene where people are expecting it, therefore if a moderator could lock the thread that would be appreciated.
