The Invaders for me. They did a kamikaze run on a Craftworld and destroyed everything while getting ripped to shreds themselves. Then the last handful of survivors went on the suicide mission to destroy the World Engine.

Think of something clever to say.

Either the Fire Hawks (although they don't technically count, since the LoTD is still kicking around) or the Flame Falcons. The funny thing about the Flame Falcons is that they come in and save the day, and then get almost completely killed off by their own side because they revealed themselves to be mutants (even though they insisted it was divine favor). It really shows how thankless service to the Emperor can be. The whole "able to burst into flames without being harmed in combat" is pretty cool too.

There was NO reason to keep all the Marines aboard the ships when they made their kamikaze run. They could have deployed to Thunderhawks to be picked up by the other fleet elements in the engagement before initiating their attack.

But that would have been less glorious...

Glory would be killing the Engine and living to tell the tale.

To be fair they probably had a mutation that took away their sense of self preservation.

IIRC they didn't die on their ships, but teleported onto the world engine to blow stuff up and buy time so the Navy could finish it off. It's not like they flew into the shields and blew themselves up.

No, the Astral Knights "won" by literally ramming the World Engine with their fleet.
