I really like the colors, dark with some pop and almost pastel. They should make a nice contrast across the field from eachother I also really like how the humans are dark and the marauders are light, kind of a role reversal

I painted these duders up a little before Thanksgiving:

Truck:

I had fun painting the truck, although I have some unfortunate spotting on the windows that I'll have to clean up at some point.

Blaine:

Eva:

Craig:

Tunga:

Phil got a little hat-based conversion and has been upgraded to Rusty Shackleford!

I like the Phil mod, looks nice and different.

Great stuff overall, I especially like Tunga manning the machine gun

@Slowpoke: Loving the flatbed truck! Liking the greys you've used for the glass- very nicely done.

Great paint jobs SlowPoke! I can't wait until those trucks come to the stores.

Though I painted them for deadzone, they are Mars Attacks minis. I got the troopers and martians from the starter set painted, still working on the civilians. I also painted up a Blaine stand-in.

Thanks folks! My deadzone board has a lot of homages to 80's action movies, and since I missed the kickstarter I couldn't get a "real" Blaine. That model is from Predastore.ch, and it is fantastically detailed! The scale is perfect (he's about a head taller than the regular humans) and I was very happy with the construction.

Meet Helga:

If she ever sees a game it'll likely be on the mean streets of a deadzone, but as she's technically a dreadball mini I figured I would put her here. Hasslefree gun, dark angel knife turned into a wrist blade, stick bomb and explosive from the Eisenkern accessory sprue.

It was fast paint work, the undercoat was kind of grainy so she was never going to look amazing without hitting the strip-vat, and I'm too lazy for that most days.

I like what you did with Helga, don't fancy meeting her in a dark alley!

Some Kings of War stuff I am going to show.

Ghouls are nice and gory

Interesting color choice for the orcs, I kind of like it.

There isn't a lot of skin on the Orcs, and I think Orc clothing and equipment should be muted and ragtag. I like it and will stick with it. Orcs are also going to be my "too much paint" army. So when I put out too much brown, a few Orcs get there clothing done, same with greys and greens. Too much brass, armour gets a lick, same with any other metallics I use. A few big beasties will add the colour to the army, I think...

Something I have just finished. Glue still wet on the basing.

That is a very pretty scheme, I think I have seen your Corporation troops in the same colours. Good work.

A test for my Convict team.

^Thanks And yes, they're meant to blend in so I can have a large human soliders/corporation marines/imperial guard style army should I get the chance to wargame it up in the future.

Your scheme looks good, kind of like military fatigues almost, which makes a kind of sense for convicts. Is that a wash or do you also dip your minis?

That is pre-varnish. I tend to wash colours in washes that match or sometimes use things like purple to shade blue etc. The trousers are actually German Red Brown primer, followed by a black wash, they lighted up with AP Chaos Red and a bit of Mephiston red - it is how I paint my Enforcers but not as much Mephiston used.

Ah. I could tell you hadn't sealed it yet, which makes sense for a test model anyway. I just wasn't sure if it was washes or a dip.

Your terrain is very striking. Looks great. Martians... What Martians? I'm too distracted by the pretty terrain.

I agree, but the Martians are also quite nice

Agreed on the terrain. How did you get that brick-and-mortar effect? I assume you didn't paint each individual brick...

Im guessing he painted it white and while the paint was still wet, he wiped it off, leaving it in the recesses?
Kind of looks like it anyway. Pretty cool effect though.

The process was described in another thread, maybe the 'what are you doing today hobbywise' thread. I believe the white is some kind of putty/whatever that was applied and then wiped back off the bricks remaining only in the crevasses. I was considering using some plaster to try something similar.

Also...

I see your ten Martians:

And raise you a Troy:

I still need to switch them over to clear acrylics though, and they need their own scenery painted.

It's one of the Modelmates weathering dyes, called Brick Joint Filler. I pretty much whitewashed the walls with it, waited for it to dry then using a damp cloth wiped off the excess across the brick surfaces leaving the gaps filled in. It takes very little effort.

I am a very lazy painter.

Also, nice looking Troy there, Grim.

Trying something different with my Wrights. Ghoulies and Skelebops for comparison.

And my first ever finished Dreadball mini despite going "all in" on both Kickstarters... and it still needs a number added so not even finished
