Blood Angels: soo close to heretics but still good guys

How are they so close to heretics?
Was Sanguinius not one of the most loyal Primarchs?
He gave his life for the Emperor and every Marine will, at some point, experience that occurrence.
And isn't Dante a legend and saviour among the citizens of the Imperium?

They're also mutants who can go mad and attack their allies. Red Thirst, Black Rage and keeping technology from the Mechanicum (Baal Predator). Sounds like heresy to me.

I guess. I still think tactics would be better. I know people who would kill to play Night Lords, and my girlfriend would love Death Guard.

I've got a Plague Marine army in the garage (along with my now illegal Defilers who are tooled up with extra CCW arms). I'd love Legion tactics. I'll settle for Legion FOCs just to get a bone at this point.

Lol, I guess that makes sense then.

When you play Sisters you learn to be willing to take what you can get. :(

I haven't been able to and had to shelve my army because it just keeps getting worse.

Also some people in this thread seem to be confused on what a loyalist legion is.

Salamanders. I like the whole 'we live among the people because we are their champions' attitude, it's much less aloof and isolationist than most other Chapters

That's why I dislike them. Ignoring 20 years of Marine background.

I think they represent the far end of the spectrum for marines. Showing different chapters with different attitudes adds flavour to the whole thing. The concept of emotionless warrior monks seems really bland without some personality. The other end would be the warmongering psychopaths like the Marines Malevolent. Another example in the Blood Drinkers, who come across literally as angels to normal humans, but with a fatal flaw, and the Flesh Tearers, who have to be kept away from everyone or they will just crank it up to 11 and obliterate everything.

I prefer my Marines as per the original background, warmongering psychopaths who are mind wiped periodically and pumped so full of drugs that they don't know which way is up but they do know they need to destroy anything in sight as quickly as possible.

World Eaters are not Loyalists

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

That sounds a little bit like the book The Forever War. In their first battle with the alien race the protagonists are given a set of trigger words that make them kill every enemy in sight wihout any kind of feeling or appreciation for combat tactics, but it is discontinued soon after.

Dark Angels... Mostly because of their color scheme. Also, they seem like the Mexican Space Marines. Lion El Johnson and those colors on the terminators. White, Green and Red with an Eagle on their chest... Yeah... Cool.

Blood angels are the only ones I can stand out of those three. The lore, and colors of the other two just sends me into a miniature smashing rage.

Tough call.

They all have their ups (except for UM. Sorry.), but two stand up from the pile:

Raven Guard. God, propably the worst ass-whooping any legion got in the HH.
Great stuff in Deliverance lost.

But I just can't say no to Blood Angels.
Sanguinus a) organized the defence of Terra
b) actually defended it for days or something
c) fought a Bloodthirster PvP with no weapons because why not
d) gave his life for the Emprahhh!

Good job Lou! Good job...

Everyone is Alpharius. Any and all descriptions of him probably consisted of describing general facial characteristics. Like that scene in the Lego Movie where they say they can't find the main character because his face is so generic that he is indistinguishable from the general populace.

But wait a minute, am I Alpharius?

Bah! I know that! I threw them in there because of how cliche they are. Man, I hate the Grey knights... Ultramarines too. I mean, what kind of name is that anyways?! They should be called the SuperCoolGuyBetterThanYouJustBecauseMarines.
