While a cool idea, I think that feels more HE to me than Bret. Women in Bretonnia are sorcerors and/or wives. Men wear armor and charge into battle.

But they definately need to re-work their SCs. Bertrand the Brigand needs to come back. Repanse de Lyonese needs to come back (with a new model because eewwwwww) and they should put in some new ones, too. Maybe a St George expy who has killing blow against dragons or something...?

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)

Bretonnian Special Rules:
"I fart in your general direction!" - Once per game, a unit with this special rule may opt to fart in the general direction of an enemy unit within 6" in lieu of shooting. Resolve this as a ranged attack with shots equal to the number of models in the farting unit, with a strength equal to half that same number divided (rounding down) by the distance in inches (rounding down) between the farting unit and its target. This attack ignores armour (the smell can slip through even the smallest of gaps) and has the Killing Blow special rule.

"Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!" - Once per game, a unit with this special rule may elect to use it when a charge is declared against them. The charging unit must pass a leadership check ad Ld-the number of ranks in the Bretonnian unit. If it fails, the unit rolls 4D6 and discards the highest two when calculating charge distance, and only adds half its movement value as they succumb to the withering hail of verbal abuse. Units with the Swiftstride special rule may re-roll the lowest two D6.

*Rasp!* - At any point during the game a Bretonnian general may blow a raspberry at the enemy general and/or his army. This rule has no actual effect other than to perhaps slightly demoralise or otherwise weird out your opponent.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Given how knight-centric Bretonnia is, I wouldn't mind giving their knights a rule that allows them to disengage following a charge, of course with the chance that some knights might be dragged down in the attempt.
Rules like this are always clunky and overly tedious, with too many dice rolls.
Cavalry should be afraid of getting stuck in combat with a big block. And a cavalry-focused army should have options to lessen the risk, but not negate it.

Of course, having them lose the impact hits, and perhaps the ability to disengage, if charging the front of spears and halberds that remained stationary during their last turn would give them a solid counter. I've always been a fan of giving spears and halberds ASF against cavalry, but I guess this works too.
Spears need a rule change. Specific units in a specific army in a specific circumstance do not need to have a special rule that only applies to spears.
The term "halberd" in Warhammer seems to mean "pole axe" more than an actual halberd.

Getting access to dismounted knights is something I'd like to see, too.
Absolutely. Questing Knights, I'm sure, regularly dismount in their travels, etc. If some of them came home sans horse in time for a battle, I'd buy it.

1. Absolutely not as that's just taking a giant **** all over DoC's special rule, which HE's already do now anyways...
A basic 6++ save vs. all attacks would be fine.
Daemons don't get to copyright 5+ Ward saves just because most of their troops lack armour.
The Blessing is just fine as it is, though it could use a little cleaning-up of it's rules (Praying and losing the Blessing, etc). 6+ Ward and 5+ vs S5 and up has been working well for them.

1. Spiritual unit/s
Instead of a unit of 'foot knights' for a more elite infantry unit, a shade-type unit of long dead knights/Apparitions of the Lady!
Could also be a good way to give the Brets a MI type unit if they want, perhaps to introduce something like a bog or mist monsters which protect the lakes & sights that are sacred to the Lady.

2. Beef up the Peg Knights a bit. Right now they're now one of the weaker MC units.

3. Grail Reliquary gets the large kit treatment!

4. Bolt Thrower as a secondary war machine. Empire gets it's gun powered wonder weapons, the Brets could do with a cheap basic Bolt Thrower to add alongside the Trebs.
1. Thought much along these lines in the past. The Green Knight is just So. Cool. A rare Ethereal monster would be wicked.

2. I say give them a rule like Warhawks and Terradons; a fly-by attack. Maybe the knight lances a guy. Maybe the Pegasus kicks a guy in the face.

3. Exactly! I'd expect something like the Screaming Bell/Cauldron of Blood-type things.

4. Not a bad idea at all. 45pts, and done.

Men-at-arms with WS 3 and LD 7
Maybe give combat capacity to damsels and prophetess (haven't thought about the detail, but liked the idea probably something like WS 5 ATT2 STR 4 END 3, prophetess would have one more life and one more LD)
Knights Errant need to stay WS3. They're the new guys. They're not better swordsmen than Empire Knights.
Pegasus Knights should start out as Knights of the Realm, but have the options to be upgraded to Questing or Grail.
Grail Knights at T4? Maybe...not sure, though. That's a big change.
Men-at-arms are not the equivalent of an Empire spearmen or halberdier. They cost the same for less WS and Ld, and they don't cause panic in your knight units. That's pretty sweet.
Check out any other army's wizards. They're not better than their average Core troops. If you're a "damsel", you're not a good fighter. WS3 S3 T4 A1 for both of them. And no extra Wound on the Prophetess. The only characters in the game with more wounds than normal Hero and Lord choices are Tomb Princes and Tomb/Wight Kings.

Peasent leavy (humen equivalent of skaven slaves with spears) (core)
...no. This is the single most iconic thing about the Skaven. And also, Men-at-arms basically are slaves. Sure, they cost 3pts more/model, but they stand up to a little better shooting, get Ld buffs easier, and are S4. That last one being a huge deal.

heavy armor and shields to prophetess and damsel (possibly)
Again, no. They're not Chaos Sorcerers. They're ladies with gossamer robes and pointy hats.

I'd clean up the prices, and adjust the power-level of the characters and such.
And your Virtue doesn't count towards your magic items.

I don't think they should have their own Lore, though. That goes against the background of the game. The Slann learned magic and taught the Elves who taught the humans. So humans use the BRB Lores. Just give Bretonnia access to all of them.

Questing Knights ought to be comparable to the Reiksguard. As in, they should be Stubborn. I don't think it's much to ask; similar stats, great weapons instead of lances, less armour, a Ward, and a little faster. They should cost more, of course, but I don't think it's impossible.
...but that would mean that Grail Knights are Stubborn, too. Yikes.

Monstrous Cavalry? What about a unit that rides things comparable to the Daemonic Mount. The Blessed Charger, or something. WS4 S5 T5. Nice n' simple.

Definitely want to see the Grail Pilgrims get their toy upgraded.
And an Ethereal monster. Yes. A Guardian of the Sacred Sites.
