Epartlis that's what I'm on about I know my list is sub par at best I just like to field flavour but with Flingit basically saying "its gak" and that people I play are "morons" isn't on not at dakka we criticize constructively no destructively.

I get the AV13 is very competitive and like I said I don't know how the CCB works as there are RaW and the RaI but as for Annihilation Barges cover and line of sight can only take them so far.

But all of this is my opinion you know I just put it in there's no need for Flingit to be so arrogant.

Do you see what I'm getting at here Epartilis.

You're confusing arrogant with informed. You confused a statement of fact with an insult and disrepect.

I'm not saying AV13 is unbeatable I'm saying that very few armies can kill 4 AV13 hulls in 1 turn at 1850 points. With conservative deployment you should not be in trouble.

I'm saying what works based on maths and Tournament experience and lots of play at high end competitive level. I'm saying that in general it is best to give advice on subjects you know about.

So what did I actually say? I said that the unit is not effective (aka reliable) without the Nightscythe you said that you had success with them reliably with Veil. Which means you were either consistently deepstriking into flamer range (approx 2"-3" away 5" max to have any efficacy of the attack) or you are walking into flamer range.

The first option means you are being very lucky. You have only a 1:3 chance to get a hit and a minimum scatter of 2" means you go towards the enemy anything over minimum (35:36 chance) is a misshap and scatter away from the enemy and you're out of effective range any scatter of 5" or more (5:6 chance) and you're completely out of range. So yes if you're doing that you are very lucky.

The other option is your opponents are letting you walk into flamer range. With what amounts to 6 MEQs that move 6". Which means a unit that has huge damage output but is slow and easy to kill is being allowed to move into range and kill a unit. If your opponents don't know what the unit can do (one of the most common power units from the second oldest codex) then having that happen once should be a hard lesson. But sorry if they are letting that happen enough for you to claim the unit is effective then that is moronic play. That's not disrepectful that is just the truth.

Then either:

a) You are very lucky
b) Your opponents are morons

Try them via Nightscythe then and only then are they amazing. Deepstriking 1" from the enemy is not a good idea unless you have loaded dice. Then any non-moronic opponent will kill them.

Thats your post point B is what annoyed me how arrogant you can be to call my opponents (alot of them my friends by the way since i don't really go to tournaments) morons.

I must have told you about 4 times now and still your wondering why I'm having a go for you having a go.

RaW the phase shifter applies to the Barge but I don't play that way as the clear RaI is that it doesn't.

Looking at the Space Wolves Chariot, it's as intended. This argument has been done to the death, so there's REALLY no reason to gimp yourself over this.

For a competitive list, it depends how competitive the meta is. A competitive list in my meta would involve a CCB + a Wraithstar, Annibarges, 3-4 Night Scythes of varying passengers, and so on.
Quite frankly, if you don't want to put your Overlord in a barge, just pay for The Nemesor. Otherwise, the foot Overlord is very inefficient in points, and Nemesor actually HAS some cool rules.

Yes that's what I said I was assuming the following explanation would have been enough to illustrate why I said that. Hopefully the explanation above is clearer. The point still stands.

Well try looking at the Space Wolf Chariot which clearly shows the intent hence why I play by that intent.

Is it good tactical behaviour to allow a very threatening unit to do damage when you could easily deal with it? There is nothing else in your list that does as much damage as they do heck due to hunters from hyper space they even know your intended target all along.

Essentially your advice is like telling some one in chess that the King Pawn is all powerful because he always kills the queen. When someone says only a moron would simply let your pawn advance up to the queen and take it, you then say that is disrepectful to your opponents. It is not. People just pushing models around for fun is cool and a great way to enjoy the hobby. But trying to claim the tactics that can work against players that either don't care about winning or have no understanding of how to play the game will work in a competitive setting is frankly far more arrogant than anything I've said. As I said if you want to give advice on competitive play learn about it first.

The Chariot in the Wolves codex benefits from the Iron Halo, does it not?

There are three chariots in 40K. Space Wolves, Demons, and Necrons. The Space Wolves and Demon Chariots clearly state they get the invulnerable save. There is no logical argument against the Catacamb Command Barge getting it's invulnerable save.

Nope it's belt of russ for Wolves and the Chariot is given its own Invulnerable save despite the fact by RaW it is already getting it from the Belt. Which is a strong indicator of intent as GW felt the need to give the Chariot its own separate 4++, which is allegedly entirely redundant and a waste of ink.

Neither of the Chariots with invuns get their invuns from their rider so why would you think the CCB would be different to the other chariots?
