Anyone know what size army I should bring for games at Hobbymasters?

Considering the current size of my force, I'll be bringing about 1100pts when I go but someone told me that games usually go up to 1750.

I have heard about the game room, do they carry GW?

I've been to the game room several times but it never seemed as though there were a lot of people there. Their range of GW products is fairly extensive.

When do you guys meet up?

I'm trying to come up within the next couple weeks, what time do you guys do 40k? Specific days? And how many points should I bring?

If anyone is still looking for a game, I intend to be at the Hobbymasters in Red Bank tomorrow night. I've been itching to find new players since my group is a whopping two people, (myself included,) and things are getting stale of late.

Put myself on the docket for the future. I can't make it most days because I work the night shift (2-10pm) at my job, but I definitely want to come by for a game soon and then we can figure out future plans.

Did you end up going? How is the turn out? I went a while ago, was turned off by the staff and a bit by some of the players, also they seemed to have no space for 40k. I am willing to give it another shot, just need some feedback before I make the trek.

Went to Gamer's Realm in their new spot, no 40k to speak of. Mostly card games now. They only have one table for 40k, with no terrain....kind of sad.

When and where do you guys want to meet up and play? My army is about 1200 points now so I'm just about ready to play a few games. I definitely still want to network with you guys since it seems difficult to find people to play 40k with.

Sunday's are a definite for me as I'm always off on that day. Usually Wednesday's as well.

Wednesdays seem to be the best day. I tried to look into getting the Monmouth County library to give us a room for tabletop, they are fine with it, just requires $5 and only people over 18+ which can be a problem.

That's actually perfect, I'm right on the edge of Monmouth county and 5 dollars is nothing. I guess we would just need to bring terrain?

Yea, I can try talking to the lady. I know that there are some in NJ Gamers that were interested. I will talk to them this week and see what I can arrange.

Work ends for me in about a week or so (I am a teacher). Starting in July I will try and make it a weekly trip, just in debate between Family Fun and HobbyMasters, Family Fun is closer for me (Freehold) so we shall see. I will keep you posted though.

I have been playing 7th since it came out and I still am getting a hang of all the little bits and pieces! So we could practically be in the same boat.

Time Warp Comics and Games in Cedar Grove has 40k night every Thursday, but lots of WMH players (amongst other games) show up to those days as well

Hey guys, I probably won't be able to make it up to hobbymasters today, what time does everyone usually show up at?

Figured I would mention it here. There is a brand new hobby store opening in Freehold, NJ tomorrow called Nova Games. Looks pretty awesome, hoping it will sell 40k.

Did you end up going? I was checking out their Facebook page and it looks pretty legit, also very close to where I live.

I know hobbymasters is essentially a bust because they don't have a big 40k following and the only other store I know of, as mentioned by chaos, is Time Warp but they're about an hour+ from me.

So I went with buddy of mine. Seems pretty legit, just not much product so far. I am hoping the expand a bit, at least to carry the paints and some minis. Good size store though, definitely able to house a few games. Going to head back again this week with my buddy and do a few 500 point games to see what we can stir up in terms of interest. Probably going to bring a few different mini games to see what peaks interest.

Hoping to see a decent 40k following, definitely off to a promising start though.

Did the owners/employees mention anything about an interest from the community in 40k? Or if they would have designated nights and/or tables and terrain?

Im curious, a move to the Camden county area may be in my future. Whats the gaming scene like down there? Im from Chicago where tabletop gaming is probably the most plentiful in the country and just trying to get a feel of what kind of hit my gaming hobby is going to take.

Im North Jersey, so I cant be certain, but its my perspective that the Philadelphia area (I loathe using that term) gaming scene is arguably superior, at least insofar as the competitive gaming scene is concerned.
