@Insaniak, maybe where you are. But in the NE, US fantasy is playing a LOT.
Verviedi. One issue you have is that is not a good HE force. That will need additional funds to bring it up to tabletop.
You have no phoenixes or bolt throwers (2 BIG staple units)
Too few white lions & sword masters means I need to spend about $160 bringing both those units up to a usable 30. Some of the stuff is IoB which commands a much lower price.
You also have 10 swordmasters pictured but not in the listing.
And that army is not $541 new... Not by a long shot.
Take the Mage, 10 sword masters, 10 Seaguard 5 reavers & griffon. That's $50. 1/2 the cost of isle of blood.
So add in everything else & your ACTUAL value is about $346. You need to drop your price, noone is going to buy at $300.
Even if they become FOTM for combining armies it's still meh. NOBODY wants spearmen or seaguard. You're 2 big selling points are the dragon princes & phoenix guard. Even then some people don't like either depending on their list. PG compete with White Lions & Princes are often better served as silver helms.
You may get $150 for that lot. I hope you get more but realistically $150.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states. |

Getting $150 for it would mean it's basically less hassle to just trash the whole damn army.
The reason I'm selling is because I assembled this army and never played a single game with it. I had no idea what was viable or not. Like a casual I bought what looked cool, wasting massive amounts of money.
Also, because Reavers and Griffon Princes are only available from IoB, I decided to price them up because the only alternative was buying the $120 IoB set. Automatically Appended Next Post: I might as well just sell my Eldar instead. 3000 points of Never Used is a bitch to store, and I can get more money for it.

The reason you're selling it has nothing to do with the reason it isn't selling. You didn't lower your price, and I'm assuming you didn't break the army up into smaller units.... what did you expect?

You should just thow it out then.
You did not get your asking price for it and people have already given you a dozen reasonable reasons why you are not going to get your asking price for it.
The title of the thread is Need Help Selling Stuff but you appear to have no interest in taking any advice given to you. This thread reaks of shameless self promotion hoping for a little free advertising and little else.

You've gotta be realistic, what you have just isn't worth much.
"Also, because Reavers and Griffon Princes are only available from IoB, I decided to price them up because the only alternative was buying the $120 IoB set."
That is not how it works & that is not the only way. Bits retailers man... do an ebay search for Isle of blood and see how many parted out kits you find.
IoB is only $99 and Many people part it out & sell the skaven for $50 and the mini rule book for $25 so it only costs them $25
IoB stuff is literally all over ebay dirt cheap plus they can pick & choose exactly what parts they want. When you bundle everything together they get stuff they don't want so you need to price it DOWN not UP.
Also The girffon isn't really worth anything, they aren't that great & they're EVERYWHERE.
I'm not trying to bust your balls just you need to be reasonable & understand the market for used warhammer goods.
Anything in the starter set makes the cost go DOWN. Bundling things together makes the cost go DOWN, having them pre-painted (not studio quality) makes the price go DOWN, having an incomplete force makes the cost go DOWN, having bad units makes the cost go DOWN.
You hit all of those notes & you're never gonna get what you're asking for it... Again if you want it gone my advice is put it on ebay with a starting bid of $99 and see where it goes.

Ha! If you believe that I am advertising my stuff, I am not aware of anything I may say to you. All I am interested in is getting rid of this stuff, not pointless Advertising that has barely any chance to work. Who says that I am not implementing the things told to me by the many intelligent people on this thread right now? I cannot change the price of anything when there is an active auction for it!

Verviedi wrote:I need money, but I can't seem to sell the useless armies I don't use. BarterTown and the Dakka SwapShop are incredibly dead, and my thread on SwapShop plummeted to page 5 without any replies. My eBay auction hasn't had any bids (3 1/2 days in) although it has 3 people watching.
How do I sell my 40k stuff and actually get people to buy?
The Dakka swapshop is most definitely not for speedy sales by any means. I prefer ebay because in 5 days things are done one way or the other, and anything that didn't sell the first time can get relisted quite easily. Given that ebay has changed their fee structure a bit to encourage more posting, with the lion's share of the fee coming after the sale nowadays there is no harm in relisting an item a couple times to get it sold.
In 15+ years of selling minis regularly on ebay I have learned the following:
Unpainted, but built units of models sell the fastest.
Painted armies sell the slowest.
Unpainted armies sell a little faster than painted, but not by much.
Painted units will generally sell faster than a painted army, but will bring in less money than unpainted units .
Unbuilt minis sell about the same speed as unpainted/built models.
So best is built and unpainted by the unit and worst is painted full army. So if you are selling a full army, split it up into its component units and list them all separately.
Any books you have for sale should also be listed separately as well. No one wants to be required to pay for books they already have to get minis that they are interested in.

Actually on ebay unless there is a bid on your auction you are free to modify it at any point you like until it ends. I've even had buyers make me an offer for something half way in with no bids and I've gone in and immediately put in a buy it now for them to purchase it immediately. You can even end the auction early if you decide to split it out into separate units as well.

Breaking the army up into lots will help. I know a guy who was attempting to sell some 40k Orks this summer. I made an offer a number of time to buy a few things and he would not break up the collection. I even found someone else to go in with and made an offer for most of it, he still refused saying it was worth more than our offer and he wanted the $ for the whole army because he needed it. Guess what? He still has all of it. Breaking it apart he would be rid of most of it, but now he has no extra cash and a bunch of plastic he does not want. Break up the army to move it. You will end up with stuff leftover but you will have some money.
