So this week im running last weeks list and just adding a C'tan shard.

Don't. C'tan shards are not worth it at all. Maybe in a month or so but not now.
Last weeks list worked out fantastic so why change it!!

Exactly, don't take the C'tan shard. It does look like a pretty good list without the Ct'an.

Meh, he's already at very high points efficiency. He has room to use a single point-inefficient model without it losing him anything unless he's in a tournament meta. The game is about enjoying yourself, and it is a fluffy and frankly slightly underrated model.

Number one rule of running a C'tan shard: It's a fire magnet. Barring a few specialist weapon types, it should last a good while and sponge up a lot of bullets meant for everyone else. On the flip side, if your enemy ignores it you've got a C'tan shard into combat with a lot of wounds left where it can do some real damage. Woo.

Number two rule of a C'tan shard: If you've not got a gimmicky gameplan like the Orikan the Diviner/Writhing Worldscape C'tan combo, stick with the shooty powers. A C'tan with shooty powers will contribute before the combat it has low chances of surviving to get to, and if really lucky, stand a chance of popping a rhino in the shooting phase and eating the contents in assault. Not a high chance of that happening, but if the stars align that's the perfect role for the thing.

Just... Don't go into this expecting your Star God to live very long. I think that might be what puts people of it so much, big glowy distraction is kind of an ignoble role for the Nightbringer to play.

Has to go up 250 points. List is not changing other than adding the c'tan

Alrighty, ill swap him to more shooty? Power ideas? And yes he will definatly be a bullet magnet. But that could work out well as then the rest of my army has more time haha!

Personally, if you want to get it up to the points value you listed, the simplest is Transdimensional Thunderbolt and Pyreshards, which with BS 5 makes you roughly equivalent to a full tactical marine squad with an assault 1 Lascannon at close range. Monstrous Creatues can fire two weapons then charge after all.

Feel like going cheaper and sticking an upgrade on your warlord? Swarm of Spirit Dust could help it lurk in a ruin and assault into cover. Little niche, but maybe handy on a very dense board.
