Thing is, Corax and Lorgar hardly had any relationship, they fought because they happened to be at the same place at the same time.

I pretty much loathe Russ, but cinematically, Russ versus Magnus is a wonderful study in contrasts.

One is the apex predator: the other is the apex magus

One is the primal wolf; the other is the sophisticated scholar.

One is barbarian ferocity; the other is focused control.

One goes for the throat; the other for the mind.

One follows his master without questioning; the other questions his master's judgement.

One is deceived by the traitor Warmaster; the other is punished by the Emperor he loves.

One is cocky and arrogant, but steadfastly loyal; the other is urbane and and contemplative, but hubris leads him into rebellion.

One can only see the target in front of him but strikes true; the other sees the future but can't see the snare at his feet.

One seeks battle with his brother; the other is resigned to his fate.

Not to mention their personal appearance and combat styles would be immediately and visually clear.

My two teef.

If it doesn't have to be a canon fight, I think Sanguinius vs Kurze could be awesome. The two different sides of the Imperial Angel coin

Hell yeah, would make for an interesting fight. Though really the Kurze/Corax fight is a better mirror.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

I feel dirty for pointing this out but Magnus was kicking Russ' ass despite Russ being the most powerful anti-psyker there is. Russ won because he got lucky. Him being made exactly for that fight wasn't enough alone for him to stand a good shot at winning.

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."
