No, what we're saying is that we should make some allowances for the fact that a flyer is not (in universe) mounted on a stick and incapable of altering its vertical height or its angle of flight. In the same way that a guy modelled kneeling down shouldn't actually be forced to move around the table on his knees.

Hate to burst your bubble, but we did not design the crappy rules for these things. If you take issue with it look to the game designers rather than the people trying to follow the rules. Do they limit flyers? Yes. That could be intentional.

In the end it is between solely you and your opponent, but you should ask before you assume.

Tilting forward seems to be a textbook example of modelling for example.

You are correct. By the BRB this is cheating.

So has anyone actually found rules that state the firing arcs are 3 dimentional?

Yes. From"Vehicle weapons and line of sight":
Spoiler:
“In the rare cases when it matters, assume that guns can swivel vertically up to 45º, even if the barrel on the model itself cannot physically do that! Additionally, assume all hull-mounted weapons can swivel horizontally up to 45º.”

What do you mean by '3 dimensional'?

Isnt LoS from hull mounted weapons drawn like a cone with a 45° angle? If so, wouldnt both weapons be out of LoS since they cant angle down?

.
Vertical 45 degree angle TOTAL is actually only 22.5 degrees downward angle and 22.5 degrees upward angle, see the image BRB pg 74 "Arc of Sight 2" for horizontal angle which is 22.5 degrees Left and 22.5 degrees Right (45 degrees TOTAL) (note; pg 74 "Arc of Sight 1" which shows not being able to draw LoS through a vehicles own hull, so the SR top turret is very limited downward to the front and rear)
.
LoS is where you remove casualties, if no LoS, no casualties/damage. Fold a piece of paper to make a 22.5 degree triangle.
.
All vehicle weapons have restrictions that players conveniently forget.

Very funny here, we see so many just think that it is okay as long as it benefits them. (not you, as your additional posts cleared it up)
.
Why not all telescoping weapon barrels so you can pull them out for longer ranges? The list goes on and on here...
