A modifier is defined using the words adding, subtracting, multiplying and setting.

How is that incorrect?

Just so we're on the same page here, you are claiming that the increase of 1 is not a modifier?
Because that would mean that your Thunderwolf mounts suffer Instant Death to anything Strength 8 or more, as instant death is done against modified toughness. If the increase to Toughness, Strength, etc, is not a modifier, then you use the base of 4 to figure out Instant Death.

If I sound like I'm being a condescending butthole, I'm not. Read my reply as neutrally as possible, please and thank you.

Because it's not defined using those words. Because, as shown, +1 doesn't use the word add, but it's a modifier.

sorry, correcting you will just lead this argument off the cliff.

@kriswall: Your examples are flawed as both number lines and objects are just visual representations. If you look up a number line moving to the right is defined as addition. The bowl of beans is the small thing, putting additional beans in the bowl is adding....

ADD causes my posts to ramble from time to time. Please bear with me.

You're not a Time Lord stick with linear time.

No. we are not on the same page. increase is not a modifier is correct. T will be 5 not 4. Increase is not a modifier but increase still need to take place.
