If the game ever gets split into time periods, and as I understand it, WK have done so in other games before, such as the superheroes into silver and golden ages, then I'd be more interested in it for it's timeframe.

But given we play almost entirely NG/DS9 era stuff, and I'd love some sort of midrange ship between the tiny teen ships and the hulking 30+ dreadnoughts in my romulan fleet, this was looking good and then fell really flat for me.

That is going to be very tough to find unless something changes at WK. From the early interviews given by Andrew Parks and that guy from WK that wears the vest all the time, they only have license for the shows and all the movies except the JJ verse. We don't ever see any other Romulan ships. The only canon classes they haven't released are the Romulan D7 and the Shuttle from DS9. Even if they give a D7 cloaking it isn't going to hold up well to the NG era ships. You could use K'Tingas and call them D7s that would be a great 22-24 ship.

Though if you are playing faction pure I would say give the flea a try, a 3 evade ship can be slippery. With 3 evade 3 hull, and 3 shields, it won't be one shoted by much other than the borg in faction pure. Try proxying it stripped down with the photons from the Valdor, might be what you want.

Faction Pure could make the Flea fun (love that nick name- it's very appropriate). However, anything with six attack dice could "one shot" the Flea. :/ Heck, there are a couple four and five attack dice builds that could one shot it- like the Fed Quantum Torps that add an extra hit, the Romulans... well, just about any faction can do it (except maybe Independent... Tholian ship... LOL).

I'll be picking up the expansion just for Valdore. I might try to use the Flea with the Garab and Picard underneath him (a 3 pt skill 9 Captain? Sure! Why not? ). Was the expansion underwhelming? Eh, it's not that bad. It's actually got some good cards for the ship- better then most ships. It lacks in that it doesn't have cards that are useful by other ships, and the ship itself is pretty bland. Compare that to the cards in the Alpha Hunter and you really go "sigh."

I look forward to using it on our Enterprise and TOS only play nights

If you picked up a Scimitar the Viceroy is perfect for the flea. 3 point skill 5 captain for free . I don't know about the rest of you guys but otherwise that Reman scum isn't getting anywhere near a captains chair in my fleet

Had a couple of games using the Prototype last night. First game I won a 4 way fight emerging undamaged (free repair is awesome!)

Second game 2 of the other 3 ganged up on me, only to be expected!

Now if we can only finally get a Romulan captain with free action economy....

Just an FYI to anyone getting the Drone Ship. You have to put it on 2 pegs OR take the captain token off. If you only use 1 peg you will bend the little spikes on the bottom of the ship, they hit the captain token. So heads up Dakka trekkers

That's annoying I prefer to have my ships on just the one peg as I think they look better like that. Oh well I guess I'll just have to make an exception for the flea then.

Taris, the Haakona's captain, was one of the craftier Romulans going forward in STO timeline, so maybe she is our best hope.
