It's so sad to see them go (if they are), they've always seemed fairly popular. The models are fantastic, the characters are even better. Maybe it's just my love of pretty colours, idk. I fething love the Bretonnians ;-;.

I'm not so sure they will be gone. Even if they are combined with Empire and so on, I could easily see them creating a supplemental codex of them down the line akin to some of the elder and marine chapters getting their own supplement in 40K, or maybe even like Harlequins recently. There are enough people out there that I believe would jump on a new book with some added flair along with some specific rules for that as a faction of a combined humans/warriors of light army.

But, regardless, it is too soon to jump to conclusions. We just need to wait for Archaon to finish his bidness so we can see what all comes of this. In the mean time, we'll just have to keep praying to the Lady to hope she pours down her blessing upon us

At least the dwarfs are not going. I'd be angry as hell if they were.

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

Well, whats left of the dwarven race is held up in a single keep that accidentally left ifs back door wide open and undefended. What few members arent there are marching to Averland to help the Empire.

They'll probably survive in some fashion, but probably not as you know them now. Some rumors indicated they would be folded in with the humans, dont know if I believe that just yet.

If the rumors prove true, the way things are going really seems like they are lining up the Warhammer and 40k story. Dwarves are the Squat. Bretonnians seem a lot like the Space Marines. The ogres and empire combining seem a lot like imperial guard. And if they are all floating around in darkness (ie space) could be why they end up on different planets. Heck, nobody knows what happens to the lizardmen - maybe evolution turns them into the Tyranid? Could be completely wrong (probably am) but what if it isn't...

I'm not prejudiced, I hate everyone equally

Spoiler:

The leaked Host of Light formation for the Empire/High Elves has no Bretonnians listed which seems to show that they're not folded into the Empire. Hopefully that's just an End Times thing and they will still exist in 9th as part of the Empire army book. I doubt we'll see a new Bretonnian only army book for 9th since it seems that the rumors consistently say that GW wants to shrink the WHFB range and consolidate it into fewer armies and kits.

Whos to say that the Knightly Orders aren't meant to represent Brettonian Knights?

In any case thats a formation. There is AT LEAST one new army list in this book (its another Chaos list, presumably this one is the Legion list + Skaven), so we'll see what happens.
