I've been spending way too much time on my playthrough.

When last I checked in, The Empire was managing a war on three fronts. Over the course of a month and a half or so, I won about a dozen field engagements against Sarleon, and captured 6 of their lords - who I decided to sit on to hurt them tactically instead of immediately ransoming them. I managed to lead four of our Lords north and take Marleons, which hurt them a lot, but I kept most of my forces alive. My companions all got KO'd, but they heal. Took Talon Castle and knocked back a raid in force from Ravenstern - 2 Lords. This pretty much crippled Sarleon, with only Avendor and Mistmire Castle they weren't going to be fielding huge armies. So I spent a while riding around and recruiting, swatting down occasional 50-70 man Sarleon armies and a few Ravenstern forces. Defeated another serious push by Ravenstern against Talon castle with the help of two of my Lord buddies.

Down south, the rest of The Empire was getting things done, they managed to take Ishkoman, so I assumed they were mopping the floor with D'Shar, who were also now fighting Fierdsvain again. So I rounded up my pet Lords and decided to end Sarleon once and for all. Avendor was pretty seriously defended since basically all their Lords were hanging out there, but I scooped up the ones patrolling around and besieged them. It took a lot of blood, and I even had to get my hands dirty personally, but we took the city. I lost a good chunk of my Immortals and my assault team of companions got mauled. I decided it was about time for me to strike out on my own, considering The Empire controlled eight cities. So I took Mistmire, destroying Sarleon, and demanded both it and Avendor as rewards.

The Imperator, growing concerned by my burgeoning popularity and might, denied me Avendor. I rebelled, claiming my birthright as a true heir of the Old Empire. My loyal retainers in Sarleon and Laria stood with me, and I quickly sent some of my companions out to act as my vassals (I basically recruited as many companions as I could with this day in mind, and deployed the extraneous ones - hopefully I won't have to listen to them complain about each other all day now) and managed to get two of the three Lords I had the highest relationship with to flip.

The Holy Pendorian Empire was born. I moved east and took Marleons (again), and dispatched companions to Fierdsvain, Ravenstern and D'shar to bring my regards to their monarchs. Hopefully my right to rule is high enough (54) that they won't attack me.

That's where I am at right now. I have seven Lords - five former companions and the two I flipped, and am moving against the Imperial possessions still in my zone of control. They haven't pushed back against me at all, so I am assuming they are busy with the D'Shar. I'm trying to build up my relationship with my former companions, and figure out a way to make more money. I am just about breaking even, and without a constant supply of Sarleon lords to ransom, money is hard to come by. My Varangian Guardsmen are about at the point where I can start using them in battle, they are decked out in passably good armor and have the best two handed axes. Now I just need to figure out what I want for the rest of their loadout - thinking throwing axes and crappy shield/one hander. My Companion Cataphracts are still only about halfway through the equipping process; but I've had Donovan gone constantly upgrading them so they should be pretty bad ass when I start using them.

Once you hold lands as a sovereign you can talk to your companions and ask them if they want to hold a fief for you. You assign them something to hold - a village, town, or castle and they leave your party and become an independent Lord.

I basically picked up every companion I could find rather than starting with a balanced cooperative party so I could level some up for this very purpose. I have now pared my party down to get rid of personality conflicts by granting fiefs to those that didn't get along.

Anno Domini is so in-depth and detailed that it even includes the Sicilians (Woo! Motherland FTW!) and Cyprus as factions. I really, really recommend it. Also it changes the stats of armor so plated maille and coats of plate are as strong and useful as they are in real life.

I custom built Ansen as a general, along with Frederick. They are my main battle guys; I gave one of them Marleons and the other Avendor, with another village each - they now have 280 plus strong armies.

I ended up suing for peace with the empire and have spent like a hundred days just chilling and building up my rep with the Noldor. Peace is weird and off putting, but I also gathered four more lords to my banner, including one Ravenstern guy I had helped out some earlier who brought Falcondark Castle and it's village into the growing Holy Pendorian Empire. Two of my Lords have been defeated in battle and I am still trying to figure out by whom. D'Shar has lost two or three castles to Fierdsvain and a city and castle to the Empire.

Fierdsvain would be the easiest, geographically speaking, but they are also the only faction I have a positive relationship with. D'Shar would be an easy target but I would have to hook around some terrain featues; the Empire is still recovering from a two front war, but largely because of my help is still stronger than they were at start; Ravenstern is strong and their territory is so isolated I'd have to take a good chunk of it before I'd feel secure in holding it - and a years long slaughter fest is not what I am looking for. I think a surprise attack against the Empire before they consolidate is the best bet. Hopefully I can storm in, take their northernmost castles and Janos and then sue for peace.

So both empire and Sarleon have declared against ravenstern, I've been fighting holding battles against the marshals army. Empire is being taken out by the other ravenstern, I need to build up my R2R before I declare for pendor, so I can take on Sarleon whilst Ravenstern try and recover from that.

The unification in 1257ad goes well. We curbstomped Ireland, the Welsh were reduced to a single city holdout, and now we attack the Scotts and already claimed a major city. The United Kingdom will be formed soon.

The Empire are now at war with the lords of the Dshar and their lone castle. We're besieging them and the legion of immortals is mopping up any stragglers. There shall be no survivors.

Just got elected marshal, wiped out an attempted siege, Going to take Aventor or perhaps just hit Sarleon to deny them Knights of the Lion.

Your weekly earnings and prisoner ransoms are stored in your treasury in your holdings. I did not know this and for about 4 weeks was subsisting on whatever i could sell in the market place. Not fun! However I just picked up 39k from my villiage seneschal. GAME ON WESTEROS!

A clash of kings is a good mod, I'm really enjoying the no follower limit and no feuding. Having 20 followers is awesome! Kitting them out is a complete pain in the butt though. I am disappointed by the lack of Robert lord of the Eyrie >.< . Other than that it's been cool, I'm not sure if Tansy too tall should have been included but it was cool marrying her off to someone she didn't want to marry. Take that Dunk the lunk!

I tried the warhammer mod and no, just no, whilst it has cool graphics the standing armies of the factions wipe out the bandits, meaning early game is friggin hard. I had fun riding round as an orc, but when my main options for bottom feeding were dwarf (which technically makes it top feeding)
Dwarfs definitely OP, fighting the short little bastards is VERY annoying.

I hope every ones run throughs are going well.

You think Dwarves are tough? Wait till you hire Ogres or Chaos Warriors.

So, coming on day 578. Party size is 250, but I very rarely get up to it, garrisons at all my lands, and wiping enemy opposition.. Marshal at the moment, and going to take the two westerly most Sarleon castles, then taking the last two sarleon strongholds out near Laria. Right to rule of 69, so I may end up declaring at some point soon. Been getting knockbacks on my attempts to grab towns, so yeaaaah.


Update, Wiped the floor with Sarleon, probably will lead an expedition on Janos, Killed one of the huge Mystmountain armies, quite an epic battle. Probably will take on Wulfbode or the griffinswords. So much fun!

If that's the case Wyzilla I might not continue to play the warhammer one, it's a pity as i loved riding around on a boar, but i have to say i found it so hard to hit with the choppa.

Knock backs come from a lack of right to rule doctadeth? I'm curious as in acok the guys that would support me for settlements say something like "i think you have enough to match your accomplishments. I need to know why they won't give me any, i have heaps of renown but low honour and low right to rule.

The best hoard to take on is the peasant revolt , i love that fight

I'm now thinking of trying the japanese mod, man i love this game, i went back to POP the other day and had so much fun with my singalian death sabre which i have to say is very appropriatly named. Oh yeah that's one thing i'm not enjoying about acok , the lack of weapons, arming sword and masterwork arming sword- where's my magic bloody sword?????

Wyzilla i'm finding it hard to dl the mod file for AD blah blah. Kinda eager to try that one out.

Also anyone know where i can find a troop tree for brytenwalda? I cannot seem to find one.

Vanskerries tried to raid Valonarry, I rode to its defense and totally slaughtered them in a series of raids. Note. I HATE the blooming dread legion and cult armies. Hm, I might increase my right to rule again as well. My troops are amazing, Lethledrian has been pinging out enemies left right and center, and I've amassed a HUGE army, literally over 300 now. Got valorshield castle as well, We are still at war with the empire, slowly taking over.

Tempted to try and rebel.

anything from 300-400n quality troops i'd be tempted to rebel, specially if i had orders in the places i rebelled in

Being a king is the worst. If you award fiefs equally, everyone hates you. If you favour someone, everyone hates you. You've got to make sure the lords like each other when you're setting up, else you wind up with major desertions later on.
