Wow these Riders looks absolutely amazing , especially the bases, I'm assuming those are all custom made? I'm thinking of starting a DKoK army as well, a Death Rider Squadron to be precise. I'll also have to think of a way to create a proper command squad, I'm thinking of using a space marine company flag as that one does not have sculpted details on it as I wasn't looking forward to paying another 30 pounds just to get my hands on a platoon or regiment banner. Although, on a army that will already cost 1000 pound I suppose 30 extra shouldn't be that much of a problem . How did you get your hands on the commissar though? I have been looking but as it was a gamesday exclusive its pretty much not available anywhere :( (one site sells it for about 20 euros but I'm fairly sure that is a recast).

I got the commissar on amazon. Unfortunately it was a recast of a very bad quality which needed quite some patching up. Still it is a fantastic model, however I would've preferred a good quality original.

The bases are all custom-made. I use insta-mould to duplicate some bits and textures from other bases, bits etc.

The riders are amazing. This is one of the best converted and themed armies I've seen in a long time! I can't wait to see an army with 50 of these guys all together, so many with unique poses.

Putting that much effort into each model is to be applauded. A personalized, customized, themed army like this is truly the pinnacle of the hobby and something many of us hope to do someday. Very inspiring.

Thanks a lot for your nice comments Riddle. I guess I should continue building a couple more Death Riders. It has been quite some time since I last worked on them. And a group shot might not hurt as well

Here are some pics of the 'entire' Death Rider squadron, well, at least the painted part. I made these pictures quickly after a rough and tough battle against orks, they quality is quite bad but they give an overview of a 22 men squadron on the table.

During the game the platoon commander and his squad thunder past to get into position for a charge of a unit of 20 boyz. Together with a second squad of 6 riders they were able to wipe them out (before being crushed by Meganobz themselves).

"After battle shots" of the entire squad (minus the commander and vox-caster which I missed as they were scoring some points on the far end of the table poking at some buggies). You can see the charging and prancing horse in the center, as well as the flag and the rider standing next to his horse.

A bad pic of the commander and his converted command squad: Vox-caster, Regimental banner, dismounted rider and rider with a pistol.

Those riders are beautifully posed!

Dragons fear nothing, if it acts up, we breath magic fire that turns them into marshmallow peeps. We leaguers only cry rivets!
